Chapter 1: Wedding Party
Peony was looking forward until now, how she would be side by side with someone who loved her very much. Not only that, but more importantly, he also loved his girlfriend very much. Nothing could be happier than today for Peony because she had wanted it for a year ago. Their relationship has been going on for five years, so Peony sometimes often wonders whether their relationship will end or not. But, since a year ago, he had high hopes even though he would rather not start first. Arion, is not the type of man who is romantic or who likes to make promises; therefore Peony waited for almost five years to find out whether Arion really harbored his heart, only for Peony to be the last in his life.
While waiting for the Master of Ceremony to call her to walk on the altar, in front of the Pastor and the Creator to say her vows to live and die with Arion, Peony was preparing, wearing the most expensive clothes ever. Not flashy, only white clothes with ivory yellow decorations that look simple but very classy and elegant. Because it costs millions of dollars, no one realizes that Peony got this dress until they have to fight over it with high-class women, too. But, that's not a problem for him, he is willing to spend millions of dollars as long as he can be together and married to Arion until his death.
“Wow, gorgeous Miss. It fits very well on Miss's body, indeed this dress is destined to be owned by Miss for a lifetime because it fits perfectly on Miss's slender, smooth body.”
“Thanks Gre, you know I've been dreaming of this for the past year.”
Peony turned her body left and right and then spun around, until finally, she could see the back of the clothes she was wearing. It suited her body so well that Peony couldn't even say she wasn't happy.
Wearing a wedding dress with sacred intentions as well as her husband, who must have seen her in that dress, was very enchanted later. Peony never stopped smiling. Until the door of the room was opened by someone, making Peony flinch and stood for a while without looking back. It is undeniable that Peony is also fascinated by the presence of someone in her room.
“Arion,” she said very gently pronouncing the name.
Arion's eyes were fixed on Peony alone so Gre, the assistant who helped Peony get ready, was about to step back to give them space.
“Miss, I'll take my leave first,” she said
Peony nodded “yes Gre, please.”
After Gre left, the two looked at each other. A view that anyone could guess that the two of them had drifted into the ocean of love. The love they make themselves. It looked like Arion didn't stop smiling, even though Peony could see that there was nervousness in his eyes. But, Peony just guessed that Arion was nervous because their wedding ceremony was about to start. The man had to make a promise in front of the Pastor and the Creator. It was natural for her to be nervous, Peony herself, even though she was pleased, the feeling of nervousness was still there.
“What are you doing here?” asked Peony.
“Shouldn't I be here?” asked Arion too.
“You can, Arion, you can. But, that's not what I mean. You must know yourself, it's impossible to just see me here. After all, soon we will also be together. Even side by side on the altar and forever become one. You know that, don't you?” Peony studied Arion with her eyes never leaving the man, from top to bottom. Ah, Peony had been swept away by her love.
“You are gorgeous, you know that Peony, right?” Arion pulled Peony closer to him until they were only inches away. Likewise with Peony, until their breaths touch each other.
“Arion, don't--”
“Just a moment,” pleaded Arion who then hugged Peony warmly.
There is no impression of lust or passion, but rather sincerity and sincerity. Arion hugged Peony's waist close to his body with the warm embrace that Peony always wanted.
“Arion, let go! I'm ready, or my makeup will spoil. You are here.” Peony smacked Arion's shoulder lightly.
“Oh, sorry,” he said, letting go of her hug, “I didn't mean to. After all, you're so pretty.” Arion winked, teasing Peony.
Arion looked at Peony with guilt-ridden eyes but Peony, who was in a happy state, didn't notice it.
Perhaps, Arion had something to say, it's just impossible to say everything in the current circumstances. Arion wished he could tell Peony the truth after their marriage was consummated.
“Miss, sorry that many guests have come. We will start the wedding ceremony,” said one of the assistants who took care of Peony's wedding.
Peony, who understood, nodded.
“Yeah, all right. Wait a minute,” she said.
The maid left and only Arion and Peony were left. Peony looked at Arion, she could think that Arion wanted to say something, but was immediately held back by Peony.
“Arion, let's continue later. We will get married, we will live together forever. After this wedding ceremony is over, we will talk again. You can complain afterward.”
Peony smiled at Arion while stroking the face of her lover.
“Ah, yes. I'm sorry I almost ruined your makeup,” Arion apologized earnestly, making his face as sad as possible.
“It's okay honey, you didn't do it on purpose.” Peony looked at him with a subtle and sincere smile.
Arion came out, still looking at Peony. Either he was really nervous because it was his wedding day or Arion wanted to hide something ah, or he had hidden it and actually wanted to say it. It's just that he couldn't because he was hindered by the guests and the commotion of preparing his wedding party. Arion was happy, but there was still a lump in his heart. Peony was still smiling as soon as Arion left the room. His smile never broke until Arion disappeared behind the door.
“Gre, help me put on some jewelry,” she asked Gre, the assistant, to help her.
“Okay miss.”
“From now on, call mistress Gre, I will already be a wife.” Peony smiled at Gre warmly, she couldn't hide that she was in the air now.
“Okay ma'am,” Gre said.
They got ready, with Gre's help and some stylish makeup and some accessories Peony wore for her wedding. She saw herself in the mirror, so beautiful and so mesmerizing. Peony herself never expected that she would come to this stage. It was heard that the opening ceremony for their wedding blessing had begun. Peony sat in her chair with a racing feeling. Trying to neutralize his heartbeat until finally, his mother was called solemnly and gently by the host. Peony came out and walked towards the altar slowly. He saw Arion standing there with both hands clasped together. Peony smiled warmly at him and returned with a fleeting smile from Arion. Peony knew that Arion was also nervous.
Peony arrived in front of Arion, and the host immediately started the blessing ceremony.
“All right, ladies and gentlemen, the bride has arrived. The bride is the most beautiful and happiest. Let's start this event with a sacred blessing by the Pastor,” he said.
“Are you ready?” asked the host, and both nodded.
“Are you ready? Don't say the wrong thing,” whispered Peony
Arion just smiled, and several invited guests who paid attention to them also seemed to whisper.
“They match.”
“They fit perfectly”
“They must be really nervous,”
That's how some people whispered softly. However, Peony and Arion had heard because the hall where they were married became silent with this blessing ceremony.
“Okay, start taking the oath to become husband and wife, before the Creator with the intermediary of the priest.”
“Peony, I take you to be my wife, faithful until death. Always be with you through thick and thin. I promise to respect you, love you, and cherish you as my wife today and every day.”
“Arion, I accept you as my husband, loyal until death. Always with you, good or bad. I promise to respect you, love you, and appreciate you as my husband today and every day.”
“After this, you are one. Two people become one soul, nothing can separate you except death. So, know that what the Creator has put together, man cannot take it back.”
After the Pastor read the final vows for their blessing, all the guests applauded, welcoming this event with the bride and groom. Kiss each other on the forehead for the last respect, and the blessing ceremony is over. Guests are welcome to enjoy the dishes there. While the bride and groom sat on the chairs of the bride and groom, while greeting the guests who went up to the stage congratulating them. Arion suddenly stood up, and immediately released Peony's grip on his arm.
“Why?” asked Peonies.
“Hmm, wait! Someone's calling,” he said.
Making Peony wonder, there, until Arion let go of his grip. Unusual, thought Peony.
“Can't it be later? This is our wedding party,” Peony asked.
Arion shook his head, “Just for a moment, it seems important. Not all of my clients know that I'm getting married, dear, just a moment, okay?” Arion asked too.
Inevitably, Peony finally nodded, giving Arion a chance to accept the phone call.
After Arion left, several people came on stage, congratulating Peony. When she saw her friend, Peony finally get off the stage, she wanted to take turns greeting the guests and asking about the menu, if there was anything she wasn't satisfied with.
Almost half an hour after Arion left, there was no news until finally Peony decided to look for him. Their wedding party was still going on, many guests were still there. But Arion disappeared instead, he also intended to walk around the hall, while going out to get some fresh air. Peony was a little uncomfortable if Arion just left her. Even though he knew many guests, but being left out at the party itself would be the talk of the town.
"Peony? What are you doing here? Where is your husband?” asked one middle-aged woman, who is the same age as her mother.
“Oh, I'm looking for fresh air, Aunt,” she said.
“Where's Arion?”
“Calling someone,” she said, not elaborating.
“Auntie, I'm going to look for Arion first. Who knows, he's already finished calling.” Peony passed without heeding the glances and words of others.
Not until he was outside the hall, Peony saw someone and that person was Arion, who didn't know who they hugged. But, there is something different in Peony's eyes. Why should it be at the wedding? Peony asked in heard.
