Chapter 2

1180 Words
Sara turned around cautiously. This wasn't the first time she had come to this part of the forest. She used to come here a lot whenever she had a lot on her mind, but recently, she had heard rumors that it had become increasingly unsafe. Sara studied her surroundings carefully and cautiously. There was no one. Had she just imagined it? Just as she was about to calm down, she heard the same sound again. This time, when Sara turned, she saw two werewolves emerge from behind the bushes. Sara could immediately tell that they were rogues. She had been unprepared and unable to hide, so when they looked in her direction, they saw her standing out there in the open, shocked like a deer caught in the headlights. They began to advance towards her menacingly as Sara began to back away. As they advanced towards her, they growled softly sending shivers down Sara's spine. They snapped at her, and Sara broke into a run; they immediately began to chase her. Sara panted heavily as she ran through the forest. The rogues were fast catching up to her. When Sara turned behind her to look, she didn't see the twig in front of her; she tripped on it and landed on the floor. Seeing Sara on the floor, the rogues slowed down and advanced towards her slowly. Sara tried to get up but was brought back down by a sharp pain, she had twisted her ankle. The wolves, seeing that Sara was defenseless, growled and continued advancing towards her. Just as one of the wolves jumped towards her, Sara closed her eyes shut, waiting for the pain that was to come, but it never did. Sara opened her eyes slowly to see the rogues struggling with another wolf, a bugger wolf with streaks of silver in its fur. This wolf was fiercer and by far stronger. He threw the rogues around with such ease that Sara was stunned. She watched the fight with awe. One of the rogues, seeing that the new wolf was occupied with its friend, inched towards Sara. Sara did not see the rogue coming, and neither did the silver-streaked wolf. The next thing Sara felt was a searing pain in her leg where the rogue had bitten her. Sara let out a sharp scream, alerting the silver-streaked wolf, who immediately rushed towards the second rogue and flung him away from Sara. After the attack on Sara, the silver-streaked wolf seemed to have become much more fiercer and angrier as he tossed the two wolves around violently before finally finishing them off. As awed as Sara was by the silver-streaked wolf, she couldn't really focus on the latter part of their fight as her mind was reeling with the searing pain from where the wolf had bitten her. She suddenly felt very dizzy, but then the silver-streaked wolf began to change into its human form, and before Sara stood one of the most handsome men she had ever seen. He was so built and good-looking. As he began to walk towards Sara, she whimpered and struggled to move backward. As handsome as he was and despite the fact that he had just helped her, this strange man exuded an intensely dark and cold aura that Sara couldn't help but be scared of him. Unfortunately with her ankle twisted and the pain from the werewolf bite searing through her, there was no way for her to escape. Sara sat there watching the man as he walked towards her, unable to move, her vision becoming increasingly blurry and her headache getting more intense. "No....", Sara whimpered. "No, please.... please", Sara pleaded but he didn't stop. Sara tried to stand up but the sharp pain from her ankle brought her back down. The man stopped and crouched down in front of her. He stared at her intensely, and Sara shrieked back under his gaze. Her head was now swarming and her vision had become increasingly blurry. As she swooned and fated, she was fairly sure she heard the stranger growl, "Mate" But that was impossible, right? Sara's eyes fluttered open slowly. The stream of sunlight from the window beside her made it a bit hard for her to see at first and she had to blink a few times to get her eyes used to the room. Sara looked round; she was lying down on a king-sized bed in the middle of a large room. The room was tastefully decorated although in an ancient style, it was quite luxurious. Sara tried to think back to how she got here and she remembered the attack in the forest. She remembered the rogue wolves she had encountered and the… Sara's mind was immediately on alert. 'That's right!', she thought to herself. 'The silver-streaked wolf who had saved her. Where was he? Was he the one who had brought her here?', Sara asked herself. She looked down at her leg to see it was bandaged where the rogue wolf had bitten her. 'Had the silver-streaked wolf bandaged her up?' Just as all these questions were swimming through Sara's mind, the door suddenly opened and a man walked in. The man who walked in was about 5"9 ft tall and easily one of the most handsome men Sara had ever seen. He had long wavy Hercules gold hair. His pair of bushy eyebrows sat on top of his doe-shaped, mirthful eyes that seemed to sparkle. In between his eyes was a falcon's nose that added to his charm. He had a boyish and playful aura around him. "Ah, you are awake", the man said when he noticed Sara awake on the bed. Sara didn't say anything and just stared at him, trying to decipher if he was harmful or not. The man walked towards the bed with cat-like grace but also very briskly. "It's good to see that you are fine", he said as he stopped by the side of the bed and smiled at her. Sara's breath almost got caught in her throat, never had she seen such a charming smile. His smile calmed her down as she began to feel that he was not a threat. "Where am I?", Sara dared to speak but was still on guard. "Who are you?", she asked successively. "Oh, right! Where are my manners? We haven't been introduced", he said with a small smile. "My name is Kaile and you are in my home", the man introduced himself. Sara blinked confused. "Your home?", Sara asked. "But how did I get here?" "Well after your unfortunate encounter in the forest, my brother saved you and decided to bring you here, to our home", Kaile answered. It was like a light bulb went off in Sara's head as her eyes went wide with alertness. "Your brother?", Sara asked cautiously. "Yes, my brother", Kaile nodded. Just as Sara was trying to make sense of it all, the door to the room suddenly flung open and someone walked in. Sara watched the newcomer, eyes wide with surprise. It was him!
