Dylan's POV
The week so far has been so exhausting I really regret taking the job at Hope Medihealth Hospital. I make my way to the hospital for the night shift. Hopefully, tonight will go smoothly without any problems. Wishful thinking I know, I can't remember the last time the night shift went well without any issues.
I enter the emergency room and notice Janet at reception. I sigh, I really hope she won't be doing anything to irritate me today. Her eyes light up when she sees me, she gives me a flirtatious smile. "Good morning doctor Webber, hope you doing well this evening." She twirls her hair around her finger, is she flirting with me? I give her a small smile and nod my head as a form of greeting. The desperation of this woman is really starting to annoy me. She walks towards me, does this woman not get the message? Gees I'm not interested in you go away! I walk faster in order to avoid talking to her any longer.
I hurry to try and get away from Janet and walk towards the cubicles. It was only when I almost reached one of the cubicles that I realize I'm going the wrong way. I wanted to go to my office. I stop dead in my tracks. I notice an oddly familiar beautiful woman applying a bandage to a patient's arm, he looks about 7 or 8 years old.
Who is this angel? I could not see her face properly. Her beautiful curly light brown hair with golden streaks are tied into a high ponytail with a scarf wrap around her head. Her caramel skin looks flawless, it was only she turned her face slightly I noticed her mesmerizing hazel eyes and full juicy lips. Wait... is that... Samantha Smith? I widen my eyes as I realize it's her, I badly need to talk to her.
Wait. What is she doing here attending to a patient? Does she work here and why was I not informed? She definitely looks skinnier compared to the last time I saw her but not in a bad way actually healthier. Even though I always loved her curvy body, she still looks beautiful. She smiles at the boy she's busy treating making my heart feel warm. That smile... it is everything. Her smile can light up the room it is warm and contagious.
I stare at her smiling like an i***t, gosh this woman still has the same effect on me. I stand looking like a creepy stalker. I need to talk to her, I need to hold her again especially considering what happened to her.
I slowly make my way towards her; Samantha's smile drew me like a moth to a flame. I always had a crush on her since childhood. When I finally got the courage to ask her out when she was 15 I discovered she and Jason were dating. I was devastated hearing she's dating that i***t, I always thought Sam was smarter than that. I always thought she was too good for him he did not deserve a woman like Sammy.
Janet stops me halfway on my way to Sam. "I got you, didn't you hear me call you?" she touches my arm looking at me licking her lips. "This is the file you requested of the patient from last night," she hands me the file. I take the file pushing her out of the way trying to get to Sam but she grabs me turning me around, my back is facing towards Sam.
"What do you think about Rebecca she allowed this woman to treat a patient without permission," she glares at Sam and rolls her eyes. I give her a look warning her to back off. She looks at me apologetically, "anyway I was wondering if you want to hang out this weekend?" she twirls her hair betting her eyelashes, and starts giggling. "Janet, I'm busy this weekend besides I hate to do this but I am not interested in you in any way. I hope we can have a good relationship only as colleagues nothing more." She looks down in order to avoid looking at me, I can see her face red from embarrassment. She looks up disappointed at my words, "I understand I will not bother you again." She goes back to reception. I turn around and noticed that Samantha is gone.

Two days later...
I arrive at the Chapel where James' wedding is taking place. It was an old building with older roman style architecture. It was quite a charming church and not a lot of people were invited to the ceremony. "While this is interesting I always thought Elizabeth would have a big and grand wedding planned for her eldest son." My date who also happened to be my mother commented. The old woman looks round with a displeased look in her brown eyes. I look a lot like her but I have my father's eye color grey. I chuckle at her comment and lead her towards our seats.
As we are about to sit down I notice a familiar light brown head beauty making her inside the church. Man, she looks breathtakingly beautiful in a tight-fitting jade-green thin straps satin dress. Even though the dress might be extremely sexy showing off her hourglass figure, it was still elegant. Her hair is in a high bun and she is wearing very little makeup. I stand dumbstruck looking at her like an i***t as she takes her seat a few rows behind us. This is the second time this week I am left speechless by her.
The moment Sam stepped inside the church you could hear whispers and mummers around. My mothers look me and noticed me looking at Sam. "Mmmm, so you still in love with her? You look like a fool looking at her like that either talk to the poor girl or sit down." I sit down I will talk to her later right now it's time for the wedding ceremony to take place.
_
"I now pronounce you husband and husband, you may kiss your partner," the priest declares and James kisses his new husband. Happy cheers fill the room, James and Jackson make their way out of the church. The drive to the reception area was long, the reception was held on one of the properties of the Smith family about an hour from the city.
The property is a big mansion with grey stone walls and a fountain in front. Beautiful greenery surrounded the mansion which is something refreshing compared to the city. The reception is at the back of the property outside in a big marquee tent facing the garden. Everything is decorated elegantly with white flowers arrangements used as centerpieces on each table. My mother looks around impressed and nodding her head in approval by the decor of the party. "Well, well, well I must say I'm impressed, Elizabeth did a great job here at least." She makes her way to James and Jason's parents; Elizabeth and William Smith leaving me all alone.
William took over Smith Enterprise and Hendry Smith Memorial Hospital from his father a few years after marrying his wife Elizabeth. William with his wife by his side, partnered with my father Edward Webber, and turned the hospital into the success it is today. They later build more prestigious hospitals and medical centers in other states and throughout New York and that was how Smith Medical Group was created.
The evening had been quite boring as my date has left me alone to mingle with the other heads of the wealthy families of New York City. I only had one goal to talk to the golden-brown-haired woman that got my attention earlier.
I make my way outside the mansion, a good thing I did. I clench my fist at the scene happening I can feel the anger building up inside me. I think it's time someone teaches this brat, Jason, a lesson.
