Chapter Two
Cursed Night Prince
" What's happening Mabel?" He stammered shocked and mesmerized by how hot she was looking. None of his queens had ever approached him first to get intimate. Seeing how naughty she was behaving made him even more suprise. She walked slowly behind the King, gradually removing his clothes as she whispered mind blowing stuffs to his ears.
" What?" The King's eyes shone as his body immediately reacted to the words of the woman before him. The King didn't know where Mabel got such idea from but before he could process what was happening, her mouth was already doing things. This was a new feeling and it was mind blowing. Tonight was different, it was hot and even the King was sure she would get pregnant.
Apparently the apple given to her by Hazel was the orchestrator of the whole craziness that night. The King feared another princess would be born, he regretted getting intimate with his wife again. Queen Mabel was so happy when she noticed she was a few weeks pregnant. She hid the pregnancy for a few weeks but made preparations for the prince who was coming. She made cute clothes for a male child and even her maidens prayed the desire of the queen came to pass. No one could tell her otherwise, her heart was settled. The other two queens prayed the first queen gives birth to the heir since neither of them could.
The feotus was growing in her womb and her expectations increased each passing day. She ate well, rested a lot, visited as many medicine men as possible to check her baby often.
" The queen is in labor." The chief maiden announced to the King after a bow. The King sighed deeply and hoped the gods would favour him.
The whole kingdom stood still! The giggling of children could not be heard and even the noisy water fall was calm that day. The whole kingdom held their hearts in their mouth as they awaited the news of the birth.
" It's a boy!" The midwife screamed from inside, immediately bringing out the baby for the onlookers to see.
" Our prince is born." Everyone screamed in excitement. The king broke down into tears as he thanked the gods.
" I told you at the right time, everything will fall into place." He heard his grandmother say. He looked up at her and thanked her, thinking she had a hand in it.
Queen Mabel was grateful to Hazel and she promised to send as many gifts to her as possible.
" What's happening?" One of the midwives asked.
" She is bleeding again." The swing into action, stitching and doing their best but they could see and feel the life off the queen gradually slip away.
" No, no..." The doctor murmured as he tried to revive the queen but she was half gone.
" My ba...by." The queen whispered. The baby was brought to her and contentment filled her heart. She would happily leave the world now since she had given the King an heir.
" I will always be with you." She whispered into the little ears.
She held her baby and with the first and last kiss, she gave up. As if the child understood what was going on, he began crying. The kingdom was thrown into solitude. No one knew whether they should rejoice for the arrival of the child or cry due to the death of the queen. The news was related to the King and another level of sorrow filled his heart.
The queen was laid to rest in the royal sepulcher. Soon, jubilation filled the kingdom once more. However, there was something unique about this child, he had a different color of eyes. The adorable eyes had a spark of red on each eyes which couldn't go unnoticed.
The king's grandmother happily came to carry her grandson for the first time after laying the late queen to rest. Since she was still strong, she decided to raise the child by herself until death came knocking on her door. Immediately she held the baby in her arms, her hair stood in fright and a feeling of danger enveloped her.
The good in her immediately caught the evil in the child and fear gripped her.
" What has the queen done?" Her heart quake and she knew evil had once more found it's way into the royal family.
" The child must die. " Grandmother said holding her septer of authority. She looked not like a grandmother but as a woman who had life and death in her hands. The king almost laughed if not for the seriousness he saw in his grandmother's face.
" What are you talking about? A child I have sought for all the days of my life has finally arrived and you want me to kill him? Please tell me another joke." He spat now annoyed. His grandmother was being very inconsiderate and this time, he was going to stand against her with everything he had.
" There is death living in that child, formed from the heart of evil and you must end it now before it grows." She spoke anxiously.
" What evil can a child do? " King Harzel yelled unable to control his anger.
" Every human has a choice to make. Good and evil is presented to everyone, allow him make his choice first. " The King defended.
" The choice has already been made by his mother." Grandmother answered.
" Please, teach him good. A child taught well, will never forsake his upbringing. Why not allow me to show him what good is? " The King argued.
" You don't get. Neither you nor I can do anything about it, the child has to die." She turned to leave.
" Please, ..." The King's voice echoed in the throne room.
" Do something, good always prevails against evil. Cast a spell, deliver him, just do something but spare his life." He pleaded in tears.
