Chapter -32

He entered the river without even caring about the presence of crocodile at the bottom and swam across the river again .Even his glance , gave a feeeling of grave fear to the crew and tribes stopped following them and stayed at a distance from the river while Arasu and his crew advanced. When Arasu jumped from the tree to the ground , his eyes searched for the beast who came out of the river water and disappeared in to the bushes. Arasu ordered his men to search in the bush and the crew spilt in different directions and searched for him while two of them climbed the tree to absorb from the top. He started to randomly hit the bushes and searched for the jaguar. There wasn't any sign of him in the bushes and when the crew was about to give up Arasu saw a yellow and golden eyes were staring inside the bushes and patiently absorbed the crew. Before Arasu could react and use his trident , the wild jaguar launched in air with his claws sticked out of it's paws and marked his sign on the face of Arasu with his three front claws. Because of the sudden attack , Arasu lost his balance and fell on the ground. The crew saw the jaguar standing in front of them without even a slight fear and gazed at everyone. The crew launched their weapons on to the jaguar and the jaguar avoided all the attacks like nothing in a lightning speed. Even their eyes could not keep up with the speed of the jaguar and he pushed his paws against the ground to launch his next attack. His eyes were constantly locked on Arasu who immediately rolled back after the attack and took his position to strike the jaguar. The jaguar jumped from the ground, covering a shocking and unbelievable distance of ten feet and stroke on the chest of Arasu. Arasu couldn't even believe his eyes that he had never seen such a small animal jumping to an incredible distance without losing it's speed. He couldn't even swing his trident due to the extreme speed of the jaguar. His fellow men started to attack the jaguar too, but it got the attention of the man and began chasing the man. With no other choice , Arasu threw his body between them and got his lower stomach torn. Blood covered the entire body of Arasu and the intestinal tubes showed out itself through the three lines drawn by the claws of the blood thirsty monster. With an extreme pain Arasu closed his blood leaking wound and asked his friends not to attack the jaguar and move back. He claimed that they were no match for the speed and power of the jaguar and asked them to let him handle this alone. The obeyed the order of his comrade and moved back. Arasu need to act quick and bring the beast down before it could bury its claws deep inside his body again. Both of them inhaled lung full of air and got ready for the attack. Two of them were determined to kill each other. This time Arasu took the trident and kept it at the side of his hips and pulled the trident back. The jaguar got ready and pressed his paws again with an intense look on his ferocious face. The jaguar launched it's body again towards the neck of Arasu. But Arasu who already knew this, pushed his trident forward towards the enemy in air. But to his surprise, the shiny toothed jaguar pushed the trident away from him by simply pushing away the trident in air without losing his speed with his left paw and buried his right leg claws on the chest of Arasu . He grabbed the neck of Arasu and pushed him to the ground with his body weight. The crew mates were shocked on seeing Arasu defeated by a five feet long animal. They didn't know what to do . But they need to act quickly and carefully because the life of Arasu was in the saber tooth of the jaguar. Arasu struggled in pain to remove the deeply buried tooth of the jaguar which halted his breath and waited for his breath to stop permanently. He desperately tried to scratch the body of the jaguar and punched it . But nothing helped him and he gradually felt himself losing his consciousness. While his jaws and claws buried on Arasu , the beast let it's guard down and gazed at the crewmates without even blinking. The crew members couldn't even move a step forward to help their friend due to the keen observation of the animals which reacted to every single sound in the air and stayed alert.

But suddenly an arrow stroke at a leg of the jaguar and shock forced it to loosen its claws and jaws. When the jaguar leaned and witnessed the tribal man sat on the top of the tree and fired countless number of arrows continuously to drive away the jaguar. The jaguar removed the arrow struck on his leg by grabbing it with his jaws and threw it away. To escape from the arrow rain, the jaguar moved backwards and disappeared in to the bush without any sign.

The crewmates of Arasu grabbed him who was at the verge of death and carried him to the village. The crewmates lost hope to take down the jaguar because , there were no animals stood in front of Arasu. They became desperate to leave the village and sail out of the island. With his torn throat Arasu struggled to catch every single breath and tightly closed the patches in his neck with his hands. He also understood that he and his heavy weighted trident was no match for the speed of the forest fire. He wanted to create something light and fast to handle him , the king of the dark and silence.

The tribes rushed to the spot and decided to burn down the entire bushes in the place and ignited it. The entire bushes were engulfed in fire yet they were unable to find the body of the jaguar and there were no sign of it getting away from the bushes. The villagers climbed the tall trees to check the presence of the jaguar in the surroundings but there were no sign of the jaguar in the ashes. The tribes headed back to their crude to check the condition of Arasu whose had several scratches all over his body.
