889 Words
The tribals brought Arasu to their village and treated him at the border of the village. Arasu asked the villagers not to tell what happened for him to his wife. The tribals grinded the herbal leaves in to a paste and applied all over his body to stop the bleeding. The eldest one of the tribe checked the condition of Arasu and treated him. He told not to let him move freely for two weeks and claimed that it was really a miracle on seeing him breathing. They covered his entire body with the herbs and tied his body in order to make sure he wouldn't move around. Arasu asked his crewmates to tell Selvi that he was still roaming in the forest for fun. The crewmates too lied to Selvi about him , but she felt like something was wrong and had a burden on her heart. She sat on the edge of the crude with her eyes wide open and waited for the arrival of her loved one. It took two days for Arasu to get his consciousness back and on the fourth day he started to tear the ropes tied around his body. The old man with the medical knowledge smashed his wooden bamboo stick on the face of Arasu and asked him not to move or else his wound would open again and claimed that we could bleed to death because of his stupidity. Every night Arasu's mind were occupied with the thoughts of his encounter with the jaguar. He couldn't even have a single peaceful night. He was worried about the life of the tribals and his pregnant wife. A week after the incident, Arasu absorbed a strange silence and his body instinctively felt a strong presence of someone. The tribal people went to sleep as usual with a few people guarding the place. The king of the darkness and silence stepped in to the village territory again . The flowering eyes targeted one of the crude in the tree and well hidden in the ground. He laid on the ground in an indistinguishable manner with the ground. With a deadly eyes and heavy appetite , we slowly sauntered behind the woods. But unfortunately the birds and monkeys in the tree noticed the upcoming predator and filled the air with their cries due to fear. They birds stroke their wings vigorously and the monkeys continuously alerted other monkeys by shouting and jumped from tree to tree. This disturbed the silence in the place and the villagers became aware of something was not right. Arasu confirmed the presence of the jaguar with the noise and tried to torn off the ropes tied around his body by pressing his arms harder. Before everyone gather around the place , the jaguar jumped with full force and climbed a crude to get his piece of meat. The villagers came out of their crudes and witnessed the jaguar climbing the crude , at which they kept Arasu . The villagers threw their spears and other weapons to scare away the jaguar . But the jaguar avoided all the spears while climbing the tree and kept advancing with full speed to conquer his dinner. At the other hand , Arasu torn the ropes away with his physical strength and when he was ready to step out of the crude , an uninvited guest climbed all the way and entered the crude. The glowering eyes of jaguar glowered even more when he saw Arasu in the crude. He wanted to finish the unfinished work by properly stopping the breath of Arasu. Surprised Arasu searched for his weapon in the crude. But all he had was herbal leaves , food and other useless things. The impatient jaguar jumped straight for the half healed throat of Arasu with a wide open mouth . But Arasu rolled to the other side and saved himself. He knew that there he would be dead if he didn't act quick. He stood at the corner of the crude and noticed the horns of a bison behind his back on the wall. The jaguar too knew that he didn't had much time and he should leave before the villagers climb the tree. The jaguar perfectly cornered Arasu and he had nowhere to go. The jaguar pressed his foot again for the launch and jumped towards Arasu. But Arasu suddenly broke the horn from the bison skull and pierced the belly of the jaguar. This shocked the jaguar and made it fall in ground. The jaguar gazed at Arasu in anger who broke another horn from the bison and pointed it towards the jaguar for which the jaguar showed his long merciless tooth as a warning. They both felt the crude shaking and understood that the tribals were climbing the tree to ambush him. This made Arasu to show an evil and ear to ear smile to the poor jaguar. The jaguar too understood that it wasn't his day and jumped from the crude. The wounded jaguar disappeared from the sight of everyone in no time. All they could find was the blood shed from the belly of the jaguar and the tribal leader asked a group of men to follow the traces of blood. But they lost their path when the blood traces disappeared near the river shore.
