Ravanan

Chapter -19

Kugan's men launched his first attack by aiming for his liver with his long and wooden spear from behind. But Ravanan saw this coming and slightly tilted the apex of the spear and changed his course of direction away from his body.

Kugan's proceeded next and launched his spear for Ravanan's head. But Ravanan blocked his single pronged spear with his three pronged spear. Ravanan tried to take away his spear but Kugan withdrawn it in a blink of an eye.

All other members of Kugan used this chance to surround him and started to attack him from all the directions.

Ravanan kept dodging and pierced their body when were within his reach and took down half of them. Pressure and frustration build inside everyone. "We cannot take him down like this. If nothing is done we will be a dead meat", someone murmured.

Ravanan focused his eyes in every direction and reacted to tiny sounds in air. He aggressively killed them like a monster without any mercy. Suddenly a spear from the back side of Ravanan pierced his back and made him fall to his knees with a groan. It was Kugan's men who cunningly threw a spear while hiding behind a tree. Everyone used this as a chance to ambush him.

Ravanan removed the blood soaked spear from his back and smirked," I should have guessed. Why don't you fight like a man atleast once". Ravanan's eyes stared at Kugan's eyes sharply with burning rage. His hands became blood soaked and his palm started to sweat. Ravanan grabbed some sand to take away the wetness and the dirt on the soil dryed his hands and gave back his grip. Then he took his trident back and stayed in the kneeling state for a while.

"Shut your mouth and die already" , one of the Kugan's men rushed towards Ravanan's head. Ravanan simply stabbed him without turning his head. He used the sound made by the man and observed the foot step sound in the ground with his leg to calculate the distance between him and the target to clearly pierce him without taking his eyes away from the cunning Kugan.

Ravanan gazed continously at Kugan. Kugan moved his eyes away from Ravanan and rolled his eye balls as if he was signaling someone. Ravanan smelled him and threw his trident backwards at the direction of Kugan's eyeballs. The trident stabbed into Kugan's men with a perfect shot and his men fell on the ground with another death groan. There were only two men were left.

The frustration of Kugan reached it's peek and he grinded his teeth in disappointment. "You are letting your last chance Kugaa. If you don't kill me , there will be no assurance for your life and I feel like the grim reaper is waiting for your arrival", Ravanan smirked.

Kugan ordered his last men to move away from him knowing that there was no way for him to take the beast down. But the frustrated Kugan, jumped with his spear in air like a cornered cat.

Ravanan detected something is coming beside him with the vibrations in the ground and moved his body away from the place and noticed Kugan's last men trying to kill him with a spear. The spear with full force hit the ground and got stuck . Ravanan used this chance and kicked on the tighs making him fall on the ground. Ravanan stood up and grabbed the spear in the ground with a evil smile.

Ravanan saw Kugan was in movement and constantly trying to catch him off gaurd. Ravanan kept dodging his attacks with difficulty and his face shrunk with every movement.

Kugan understood something was odd with him and noticed the blood flow started to increase with very movement. Ravanan knew that he wouldn't keep up with Kugan for too long.

Ravanan moved his right leg behind and jumped on to Kugan with all the might left in his body. Kugan placed his spear in front of his face , trying to stop Ravanan's spear. But Ravanan broke his spear with enormous force inflicted in the spear and penetrated chest with a heavy blow. Kugan with his torn lungs opened his mouth and tried to catch his breath. His soul slowly left his body in front of Ravanan who was standing near him.

Ravanan stepped back from the body and his vision started to get blurry. He couldn't understand what was happening and he started to lose his strength. He felt a hand grabbing his hands .

The next day, Ravanan woke up in his home. His eyes looked around and saw Kaali laying down and in a deep sleep. He tried to stand and felt like something was wrapped around his stomach.

He stepped out of his crude and noted that he was in his third village with his brothers and family . His eyes witnessed the children were playing around and all the ladies were gathered in a place , chit-chatting with each other.

" Ahuh ! When did you wake up Ravana ? ", Raj's wife Devi asked as soon as she saw him standing and moved to tears.

Ravanan simply ignored her questions and enquired how his brother Raj was. Devi guided him to Raj and Ravanan noticed his brother laying down with a cloth filled with medicinal herbs and leaves tied tightly.

" Ravanaaaa ! Seems like I somehow fooled the death and my soul returned to my body again ", Raj faked his laugh to cheer his sad brother.

" Who told you to go to his place all by yourself ", Ravanan grabbed Raj's neck.

" Ravana ! What are you doing ? Leave him ", Devi tried to free her husband's neck from Ravanan.

" Hahaha ! Leave him Devi. Don't you know about his nature", Raj chuckled as he removed Ravanan's hands from his neck.

"How did I get here brother?", Ravanan questioned Raj with a baffled face and sat on the ground with his two legs folded together. Raj placed his two hands behind his back and pushed his huge shaggy body with difficulty.

"As soon as you rescued us, I ordered Kaali to leave me behind and bring our people for support. Kaali left the place with a little hesitation and brought all of our people in an instant. Then I sent them to Kugan's place to check you out . They saw you laid in the middle of dead bodies and brought you and that girl to our place. Some of our men reported us that the Ragav's men is coming for us with his force, so we shifted our place in a single night", Raj laughed.
