Serene exposed the mark on her neck and yelled at the thugs, “Aren’t you afraid of death?”
The thugs were immediately frightened and backed off.
Serene coldly watched them leave before walking through a dark, damp alley.
Suddenly, footsteps came from behind. She thought it was the thugs who hadn’t given up on following her.
Serene angrily turned and shouted, “That eager to die, huh?”
It was Ian.
Ian said, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have left you. It’s my fault. I apologize. The people who were following you have already been dealt with. Come home with me, I’ll protect you.”
Serene looked at Ian, almost on the verge of tears.
“I can’t stand it when you cry,” Ian gently gazed at Serene.
“Now, let’s make up, okay?” Ian extended his hand toward Serene.
