5: A Weird First Day

Lustre’s POV Her eyes might’ve been vicious, but his? His were cold as ice, intimidating yet unbelievably intriguing. So much so that if I looked any longer, I could’ve gotten lost in them. Instead of remaining fixed on his, my eyes landed on the middle aged woman whose ass was still pressed against his pelvis—its cheeks hiding his d**k, but doing little to conceal the taut, muscled lines that led to it. A look of utter shock flashed through her features and she immediately reached for her skirt but he easily halted her movements. I swallowed, eager to get away from the scene but too flushed and frozen to actually do so. “Darling, I do feel flattered when I’m watched, but I’d prefer your ass out the door if you’re not joining in,” his eyes were thick with lust as they roamed over my slightly shivering body. Several emergency alarms went off in my head upon his invitation, and then my legs finally regained the ability to move. Without another thought, I scurried out and slammed the door shut behind me. Almost immediately, I heard a low grunt that indicated pleasure, followed by the same slamming sounds that’d drawn me to the lab in the first place. My hands flew over my ears in horror and I ran towards the infirmary, not stopping until I was safely inside and seated on the bed where I’d been treated. My chest was vibrating with shock and every joint in my body ached from running despite my unhealed injuries. When I finally returned my breathing to normal, I shut my eyes to find a semblance of peace after the chaotic first day I’d had, but the only thing that came rushing in were the initial scenes I’d walked in on. He’d had his hands in her hair, fisting a handful of red hair while he thrust into her relentlessly, earning loud moans that no doubt encouraged him to keep up his pace. My jaw had dropped open at the sight, and even though I was in the doorway for a while, they were too engrossed in the act to realize it until my clumsiness kicked in. “Ugh, I need to get the hell out of here,” I shook my head to force the memory away before getting off the bed. I glanced at the clock nervously only to realize that there were about ten minutes left for school to be over, but I sure as hell couldn’t wait that long to leave. Quickly, I gathered my things and shoved them in my bag before throwing it over my shoulder. “And where might you be off to so soon?” the same voice that had thrown me an invitation to a threesome asked. I looked up, my brain warped beyond recognition by the startling beauty he radiated despite his crudeness. “I’m used to being stared at sweetheart, but that dropping jaw’s going to give me ideas,” I quickly picked my jaw off the floor upon hearing that, “like, let’s say, you’re asking for a repeat of what you just witnessed.” “I ju—” for some reason, my throat seemed too have dried up and my entire vocabulary along with it. I could easily blame it on the hellish first day I’d suffered through, but something in the back of my mind told me that it was tied to how he was taking majestic steps towards me, each of them making me more aware of his dominating presence. And just when I thought I’d lose my mind if he came any closer, he halted. “First you bump into me in the hallway, then you walk in on me f*****g, and now you’re both speechless and awe stricken in my presence,” his eyes slowly wandered over my body, “tell me, do you always go to such lengths to express your interest?” I didn’t care about anything he’d said. Only that he’d remembered me. This breathtaking creature remembered me from one measly interaction. And of course, I remembered him too, from the very moment I’d caught sight of him lodged in another woman and railing her guts. It was only then that I’d realized how wrong I’d been to describe him as angelic then, Ha Joon was many things, but that was definitely off the table after our most recent encounter. “I have a permit and I should be on my way home,” I finally found words. Slowly, his expression turned stoic, “look here little birdie, if I catch whiff of you breathing one word about what you walked in on, you’ll be bent in the same fashion and taught a lesson you’ll never forget.” I swallowed loudly and felt an odd drop in my tummy. “Be on your way, sweetheart,” his flirty tone returned at the same time that I noticed a near invisible lip piercing on his lower lip. However I wasted no time dwelling on that, instead I practically raced out of the infirmary and towards my parents’ car that was already waiting to fetch me. I saw their faces fall as soon as they noticed the mild limp in my footsteps as well as the injuries scattered about my body so I quickly got into the backseat while formulating a suitable lie in my head. “What’s wrong darling? Rough first day?” mom’s worry was evident in her tone. “I’m just clumsier than usual in new environments , it’s nothing to worry about,” I lied without meeting her eyes. Dad sighed and started the engine, “if you ever need to switch schools just say the word and we’ll make it happen, okay darling?” “Of course, but I can assure you that it won’t come to that,” I said sweetly. *** After a car ride filled with more lies about what an amazing first day I’d had at hailing prep, we finally pulled up outside the humongous mansion I was now blessed to call home. Even though I’d been living there for a few days now, I still couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that I’d been lucky enough to be adopted into such a loving and wealthy family that made me feel extremely special after a life spent as an abomination and prey for bullies. “Go to your room sweetie, I’ll send up a nurse to check you and some gingerbread cookies, okay?” mom planted a kiss in the middle of my hair as we stepped into one of the five living rooms. Overwhelmed with emotion, I simply nodded my thanks and made my way upstairs. Have I mentioned how surreal and beautiful my room was? It was pure perfection down to every single detail. Each time I walked into it, my heart was full and I felt like nothing short of royalty because of the glittery pink and gold colors that graced every corner. I went into the bathroom and ran myself a hot bath while still reeling with gratitude at the new life I’d been gifted by the moon goddess. The only thought that remained at the back of my mind as I sunk into the hot tub was how I was determined to make good use of all the opportunities I’d been presented with. I wouldn’t let those bratty assholes that we’re power drunk ruin my chance at a better life no matter what. One thing I’d gotten from being a lonely orphan was a tough skin, and now that I had a family I was hell bent on using it to make sure nothing robbed me of them.
