What! She isn't a healer?!
Everyone was gathered because of the Magic inauguration ceremony. Villagers and nobles were also present, It was a celebration where certain people of certain age grade would touch a particular stone known as Azer to gain magical powers.
Lily was also among those people. She was only ten back then when She discovered her magic. She queued up with other children all excited and were hoping for powerful and useful magic the Azer stone would grant them.
When Lily was only a little bit younger, She always watches her parents heal different people of certain illnesses with ease and would always treat them kindly and equally irrespective of their status.
She wishes to be like her parents. Also, her elder siblings also inherited the healing magic. Sometimes they would assist in healing and making magic healing potions. She was glad to have people like them in her life.
She has been praying since then up to this day that the Azer stone would grant her healing magic just like her family.
It was her turn to climb onto the platform and touch the Azer stone. She crossed her fingers for good luck and glanced at her parents and elder siblings who were beaming with joy and gave her a thumbs up.
She gently placed her right hand on the stone. No golden lights that everyone expected appeared. Instead, the Azer stone was producing petals. Lily glanced at her parents who were as confused as she was.
Then someone yelled out.
” What! She isn't a healer?!"
Lily was shocked and shook her head not wanting to believe it, She wanted to try it again but was pulled away. She was holding back tears when She walked up to her parents.
Her parents comforted her, She refused to listen until her elder siblings crouched to her level.
" Hey! being different doesn't mean you're not part of the family".
They said sincerely.
"It doesn't?"
Lily asked, wiping her tears with her. sleeves.
"Yes, it doesn't... it means you are special" Her Mum replied.
As they all hugged her.
