I guess I really made a solid first  impression at the cafeteria yesterday because as I walked into the school hallway this morning, people parted the way for me. There were whispers and the normal gossip that comes the day after significant high school drama, but there were also looks of awe and adoration from most of the students.  I'm guessing no one had ever faced Queen b***h and called her out on her bullshit.                          “Pathetic." I scoffed. As I got closer to my locker, I saw a girl crouched right in front of it. "Hey, I need to get stuff from my locker." I said causing her to lift her head up.                                                As soon as she locked eyes with me, she shook in fear and stood up ready to run. That was when I noticed the expectant looks of the other students. Were they serious? The fact I stood up to that b***h yesterday didn't mean I was going to become some big bad wolf myself. I may be very fond of causing havoc and annoying the hell out of people, but I am totally against bullying.  "Hey, don't be scared." I said stopping her from running.                                                                                    "I'm Kim." I smiled extending my hand to her. "Thank you." She smiled shyly, shook my hand and left. She looked more relaxed than when she initially looked up at me. “Can you guys please stop staring?” I said facing the crowd of students who still had their eyes on me. The crowd scattered immediately and everyone went back to whatever they were doing earlier. However, I noticed someone still staring at me by a corner close to the main entrance. It was one of the three boys from yesterday. I decided to ignore him and opened my locker to pick out what I needed for my first class.  ****************************************** My classes went by in a flash and school was over for the day.                                                             Exhausted was an understatement for how I felt. If there’s one thing school has taught me, it’s the fact that spending a lot of time with someone may not make you love them. I mean I spend about seven hours at school everyday and I still hate school.  I couldn't wait to get home. "Hey." Someone called out to me. I turned towards where the voice came from, it was one of the hot guys from the cafeteria.  "Nope." I said as walked faster and got into my car. I didn't want to have anything to do with them. As I sped out of the parking lot, I turned back to see him standing with a disapproving look. It was the one I hit in the face. "Poor boy." I said turning back to the road. ****************************************** "Mum I'm home." I called out as I unlocked the door. Not sure why I did that since I'm fully aware she doesn't come home till evening. My Mum was such a hard-worker and I admired that although I was fully aware that recently she was trying to make herself busier just so she could forget... I couldn’t blame her though, her coping mechanism was better than mine. Looking around at the house, I realized how alone I was, back in Oakland, Hope would have come home with me at least till Mum came back from work. I wasn't complaining though, this was all part of life. My stomach started with its weird noises so I went into the kitchen to get myself something to eat.  ****************************************** "School sucks." I said closing my AP maths textbook.                                                                                              I had just used the last two hours to work on all my assignments. This was just the second day of school and I already had this much. I wasn't joking when I said I hate school.  My phone began buzzing and I checked the caller ID, it was my not so boss-like boss.  “Seen anything unusual? Any news?" He said as soon as I picked. “Hello to you too." I said with an eye roll. He couldn’t see me obviously, but I was so used to rolling my eyes. "So?" He asked ignoring my snarky comment. "Nothing yet. It's just my second day, this thing takes time, you said so yourself." I answered him. "You have a point there kiddo. Well, just be careful and be good. Don’t forget, no drama.I'm watching you." He said. "Yeah you too. Bye." I said hanging up. I knew him well enough to know when a conversation was over.  I started putting away my books when my phone buzzed, not a call this time, just notifications. 186******** Hey beautiful. "Gross." I said reading the message out.  I can't remember giving my number out but whoever this was needed to take a lesson or two.  The second message was from Hope. What happened yesterday? You owe me a very good explanation.  Principal Muggins seems to be so happy you're out.  I told your spirit is coming to haunt him though. I miss you. I smiled at her message, she definitely up to no good. "Time for some beauty sleep." I said to my empty room,  switching off the lights and getting into my bed.  I was a little curious who the first message came from though.  * * I had been asleep for just a few minutes before I heard rustling sounds coming from downstairs. I became alert immediately, I opened my room door as quietly as possible and walked down the stairs.  The kitchen lights were switched on and as I got closer, the rustling sounds got louder, I could also hear someone panting furiously.  I picked up the baseball bat I always hid in the living room and walked steadily into the kitchen getting ready to attack.  I had pictured a lot of possible scenarios, but the cute white furred dog that greeted me was the last thing I expected to see. “Hey there buddy, how did you get in here?” I asked as I played with his fur.  “Oh honey, I was on my way to your room to inform you about it. It was sitting in front of the gate, I think it got lost. Luckily the owners information was on its collar I’ve made they call and he should be here soon.” My mother said walking into the kitchen. My mother and I remained in the kitchen, playing with the dog while waiting for it’s owner. It was getting really late and I was beginning to feel sleepy. As if I’m cue, the bell went and my mother ran to the door immediately.  “Hello gentleman. Farrow’s owner right?” I heard her say. “Yes ma’am. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience. His leash got loose and he took off.” The guy at the door explained. “Kimora can you please bring that white furred beauty here.” My mother said from the living room. I patted its head one last time and guided it to where my mother was. I lifted my head to great the dog’s owner but whatever pleasantry I had in mind flew out the window when I saw who it was. “Are you stalking me or something?” I said ignoring the fact that my mother was here too. “Do you know each other?” My mother asked and the look on her face proved that she wasn’t exactly thrilled with how I spoke to him. “Yes ma’am we go to the same school.” He said politely. “Oh that’s nice. You shouldn’t talk to your friend like that Kimora. I raised to be welcoming-” my mother was about to give me a whole lecture but was interrupted by her phone ringing.                                  “Thanks for coming to pick him up. Maybe we’ll see another time.” She said to him and walked hurriedly to pick up her phone. “I guess this is my cue to leave. And just for your information, I wasn’t stalking you. I’ve got better things to do with my life.” I said cockily. “Bye”. He added and blew me a kiss. I was so angry, the nerve of him, but there was nothing I could, do I closed the door and went back to my room. Time for my beauty sleep.
