"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" I asked glaring at Dimitri.
"That's no way to talk to your boss you know." He said taking my chocolate bar from me and shoving all that was left of it in his mouth.
The nerve of this man.
"You really need to stop saying that. You're my uncle not my boss and the only reason why I agreed to do this with you is because we have the same goal." I said flicking his forehead for taking my chocolate bar from me.
"Alright back to business. We need to act fast, I think whoever is behind this is beginning to get suspicious." He was back to scary bad guy mode.
Don't worry, Dimitri is harmless well to me at least. He's my dad's younger brother and also a very powerful and scary business man. He also has connections with some secret service thing which is why I'm somehow involved in all this.
Dimitri Martins isn't that old he's only ten years older than me, but on some days he acts like an eighty years old grumpy grandma.
"Well you said two people were involved, one in Oakland and one here in L.A. right?" He nodded in response. "But I can't be in both Oakland and L.A. at the same time so how's this meant to work?" I asked while brainstorming for solutions myself.
"Christmas break." He said thoughtfully.
I raised a brow urging him to expatiate.
"We have not been able to trace the source of the messages but we were able to track some of their conversations. They are both going to be meeting in Oakland during the Christmas break. You can go there and find out who they are. I'll send some people along to keep an eye on you. Once you find out who they are, I'll take it from there." He said looking me dead in the eyes.
"We'll make him so proud of us and all those involved will pay." He said with a hopeful smile and pulled me into a hug.
"Christmas break is a hard time for mum but I'll try my best not to mess this up. You will have to try convincing mum to let me travel back there though. She has already started growing distant since it's getting closer to that date. I'm sure she won't want to travel back to Oakland. It's too much of a reminder." I said to him after pulling away from his arms.
"Don't worry about that, I'll talk to her. But what about you Kim, how are you coping?" He asked me with a calculated gaze.
"I'm great, couldn't be better." Lie, very big lie.
"Kimora Martins, you know I'm the one you're talking to right? Keep that bullshit for those who don't actually know you and tell me the truth." He said smugly.
"I don't know. It hurts, it hurts so bad that they're gone. They did not deserve it, but I can't let myself grieve until I get my revenge." I said dejectedly.
"Soon kid." He said pulling me into yet another hug.
"Soon." He said again walking out of the house.
I couldn't wait for all this to be over. It happened two years ago but I have not been able to move on.
Time to end this.

"Are sure this is a good idea?" Hope sounded worried. "Look it's not that I don't miss you or stuff like that, but I know how tough this time of the year is for your family." She added.
"I'll be fine don't worry about it." I said reassuringly. She had no idea what I was doing because according to Dimitri, we could not trust anyone.
"Well if you are sure that you're going to be fine, hell yeah you should come. I've got so much to tell you. There's been a whole lot happening at school and honestly everyone can feel your absence." She said laughing. I can only image the havoc Hope has caused.
"Can't wait. Gotta go. We'll talk some other time." I said before hanging up.
I have no idea what Dimitri told my mum but she was okay with me staying in Oakland for the Christmas break and surprisingly, she was coming too. Dimitri is quite persuasive I must say.
School was closing for the break on Friday and we were leaving for Oakland next week Tuesday.
I haven't told Maya and the rest yet and I'm not even sure I wanted to tell them.
Damon has been looking at me weird for the past one week. I know he is dying to ask me about Dimitri but for some reason he's holding back.
That's actually a wise decision because I'm not saying s**t about him.
I have my last exam for the semester this morning and I'm really not looking forward to it.
If you guessed AP Calculus, you guessed right.
Here's a cookie for you.
I looked at the time and realized I was going to be late if I did not leave the house soon.
I kept my spoon aside and drank the rest of my Cereal from the bowl.
Car keys. ✔️
Back pack with all necessities. ✔️
House keys. ✔️
All electrical appliances in the house are switched off. ✔️
Good to go I guess.
I got out of the house immediately and was just about getting into my car when my phone buzzed.
I retrieved it from my back pocket, it was a message from an unknown number.
That's weird, not a lot of people had this number.
After the incident two years ago, I changed numbers and was very selective about those I gave it to.
Unknown.
If I were you I'd really start watching my back. You don't know who you're messing with.
You don't want to be the third Martins to be buried.
I started looking around immediately just incase someone was following me or something.
This is messed up.
There was only one person I could talk to about this.
"Hey kiddo. You good?"
"Dimitri we've got a problem." I said going back into the house and locking myself up.
