The trip to Oakland had been smooth although I couldn't push away this nagging feeling that either something terrible was going to happen or someone was watching me.  And even now as I was at the mall trying to get gifts for my extended family so my mum could send them all before delivery services are closed for the Christmas holiday, I still had that strange feeling. I found this really cute stuffed doll for my favorite cousin Aliya but it was higher than my hands could reach.  Ugh!! Trust me, I'm not short, I'm 5"6 which I think is fair enough. I decided to look for one of the mall attendants who is tall enough to help.  On my way to ask for help, I was brainstorming for a good gift for my grandma and I guess I wasn't watching where I was going because next thing I knew, I bumped straight into a wall. "I'm beginning to think this is your specialty."  A muscular wall with arms and a very familiar voice.  This was totally déjà vu, except this time Miller was not running after me. "Crazy, an apology wouldn't be overrated you know." He said amused. "What are you doing in Oakland? Are you some kind of stalker now?" I asked jokingly.  "First off, what are you doing in Oakland too? Secondly, don't give yourself so much credit, your life is too boring for me to stalk you.” He said with a bored expression that did not go unnoticed. If only he knew. "Maybe if you paid attention when someone else except you is talking, you would remember me saying that I was going back home for Christmas when Jeff asked. Your turn, what are you doing here?” I asked trying my best not to sound too curious. "My dad got a last minute invitation to some party here, so he thought it will be a good vacation plan. And I actually pay attention when people talk, well people I think have something interesting to say.” From the look on his face, I knew he was just trying to rile me up. But I wasn’t going to give in, today wasn’t the day at all. I would not mind punching him square in the face though. “By the way, Maya and the rest tried reaching you, but she said your phone has been switched off. Just a heads up, she is ready to rip your head off if you were purposely ignoring her." He seemed amused by the last statement. I forgot my charger in L.A. and I was to lazy to go out and get a new one until today. I totally forgot about updating her about my trip. "I'll make it up to her when I get back to school. I'm too adorable to be hated." I said, the last statement obviously dripping with sarcasm. "Oh there's no need for that, she's in Oakland along with Cole and Jeffery. Their parents too were invited, apparently it's an event hosting a lot of California's high profiles." He stated matter of factly. That's weird, almost all of California's money bags cramped in Oakland. This sounds completely  off. Why did Dimitri not inform me? "I'll see you later Kim. Have to get back to our hotel before my parents get worried. I'll say 'hi' to the rest for you. Maybe we can all hang out." Damon said moving to the cashiers spot. Now this whole thing was confusing.  After about another hour in the mall, I had gotten gifts for everyone on my list. Maybe I could hire someone to this for me next year, because I was beyond exhausted. Hey don't blame me, we all agreed that I wasn't the regular teenage girl and my dislike for shopping is just another one of my irregularities. Like how do other girls my age even do it? If you have any idea on this, please share because I feel like I lose a piece of my already lost sanity anytime I'm in the mall for more than thirty minutes. ****************************************** I planned on stopping to get some takeout Chinese food before going home, but I got a message from Hope saying she was on her way to my place. We'd been hanging out everyday since I came in on Tuesday that makes it two days.  As soon as I got home, I carried the gifts I bought into the house. I wanted to put them away before Hope comes, her gift was there too. After keeping the gifts in a spare room, I decided to wait in my room till I got a call from Hope indicating she was at the door but when I got into my room, I took a few steps back out of shock. There was a rose and a letter placed on my bed. And my closet looked like it had been searched. My first instinct was to call Dimitri but I decided against it, I searched the entire house just incase the culprit was still lingering around but there was no trace of anything unusual.  I went back to my room and picked up the letter. Kimora Martins,           Just found out you have the key to what we all want. Hand it over and everything will be fine. Daddy lost his life trying hide it, poor Martins. : )         Oh and I should warn you, looks can be very deceiving sweetheart. You are surrounded by the greatest traitor. As soon as I was done reading, it felt like acid in my hands and I dropped the letter back on my bed.  What did all this mean? Was this person just trying to mess with my head or could- The bell went interrupting my train of not-so-positive thoughts. I quickly hid the letter and rose and ran to open the door.  I was greeted by a smiling Hope who immediately went on ranting about her boyfriend. I'd have normally been very engaged in this discussion but one statement had refused to leave my mind. You're surrounded by the greatest traitor. If this person wasn't messing with me, then the big question hung open. Who could it be?!
