CHAPTER 16 His Touch

  Fern   I forget how to breathe, but why would I need air when Alpha Gaven is touching me? I swear the feeling of his skin on mine is enough to sustain me for several lifetimes.   His fingers are warm against my skin, gentle but unyielding as he tilts my chin upward. The contact is so light it shouldn't matter, but it does. It matters far too much. My pulse stutters wildly as our eyes meet, and the world seems to narrow until there's nothing but him.   So close.   His eyes are darker than I expected up close. A deep blue, like the ocean just before a storm breaks. I've never been this near to anyone like him before. His pupils widen as we share space, and there is something unmistakable in his eyes. There has never been anyone who looks at me like this, as if I'm something worth focus
