**Thalia
“Are you going to the bikers club night party?” Henry asked me, shock across his face. I ran my tongue across my upper lip and shrugged, “I have to respect the invitations because we are good friends.” I answered and walked past them.
They all turned around again and were staring, so I decided to ask them, “What is wrong with you three?”
“You never liked bikers, so why go to the party suddenly? How did you start liking them?” Janina asked, her eyes bulging.
I understood them, but this was nothing to make a fuss about. Someone could change their mind towards something, and I am doing that now. I didn't like anything which had to do with bikers, but one of them who came here last night and guarded me when I was at my lowest had just invited me, and it's not something I could reject.
He looked so calm and friendly. And as Lilo said, I should drink away my sorrows in the club.
“I changed my mind. My attorney friend is the lady to their president, so she insists that I come see her man. Maybe, if I like them from the party night, I will frequent there.” I finally said before squatting down and returning to work.
What I didn't expect was the question from Cloud, “But you're married and your husband might not like the idea. Did you tell him already? I wouldn't like you having issues with him." He was the one who showed me about my husband with another woman, and I could sense something in his voice, more like he was expecting to hear a secret they didn't know.
I scoffed bitterly, memories I hadn't recalled until now flooding in again. The pain that twisted my gut when I heard Freda's moan from the doorpost…and then the times Dante claimed me as well and had me cry out for more.
“Cloud, I am divorced!” I finally announced, and the look on their faces was so unpredictable. “Now that you three know, can you let me have fun in peace?” I forced up another smile before getting back to work.
They stood there for quite some time before getting back to work. I didn't know my divorce could be such a blast to them.
Well, they'd known how good I talked about my husband and how I hadn't ever complained about him. We were all lovey-dovey anywhere we were, and I could tell that his chicks would be making fun of me whenever they saw me.
Cloud could be the only one who started to rethink Dante, because while he was showing me the photo, he said firmly that my husband could be cheating on me, and the look on his face then was as though he would rip Dante apart if he were ever let to.
The day went by so fast, and the next day came. Due to the party night, I told them to close on time, and we all left at once. Henry and Cloud would go together, and Janina went to visit her boyfriend.
I had already texted Lilo that I was joining her at the party, but I didn't let her know that it wasn't her invitation that piqued my interest. She came around 8 pm and picked me up because I didn't know the way there. And when we arrived, the club was already buzzing with the sound of music; people crowded at the entrance, and some were entering and leaving.
“Is it always like this? I guess it would be suffocating inside.” I said to her, and she laughed. “You're coming here for the first time?”
She shook her head, "I've been frequenting the weekends since I accepted to be his ol’ lady.”
“And now no one can tell you are an attorney with how you're dressed.” I giggled and pulled out my seatbelt. She wore something skimpy and sexy, not her normal corporate dressing. If I saw her on the way wearing this, I wouldn't recognise her from the back because it would be weird since I'd only met her in corporate wear.
We got out of the car, and she took my hand. “I'm going to introduce you to them all. So follow me.” She winked, and I smiled, then we began getting in.
I couldn't wait to see that biker once again. He was so alluring that one wouldn't get tired of admiring him.
The club was so noisy, but she took me to a corner and told me to wait there for her so she could find where the others were first. I stood at the side, my hands in the pockets of the jacket I was putting on, and I kept shifting my gaze from one side to another.
‘Such a crowd…’ I thought and pressed my lips together. ‘People tend to have a lot of fun, and I could be missing out on so many things in the name of marriage and a decision taken years back. Maybe I should just break free and have the best life as a single lady once again. No room for love; just fun.’ I came to that conclusion, nodding gently to the music playing in the background.
Lilo was taking a little time, but I didn't know where else to go, so I had no choice but to wait there. If I could see the biker who came to my workshop, I would follow him and explain who I came with. But I noticed that the men around weren't bikers. None of them wore leather cuts and were just outsiders.
With that, I thought they could have a special place for them, which was what Lilo wanted to confirm where they were so she wouldn't stress me out.
I sighed out loud and ran my fingers through my hair, shoving them all back.
The light in the room dimmed, and then brightened almost immediately. I looked up to see a familiar figure some feet away staring at me. My eyes popped wide as I caught up his face, and a lump formed in my throat.
I wasn't going to run away, but I didn't like what was happening.
He walked closer to me, wearing a scowl. “What are you doing here when you don't go clubbing?”
The audacity…
I was as shocked to see him as well; such an i***t. Could it be that he was always here when he claimed to be working overtime at his office? I'll simply put it that I married what I don't understand, and it's all thanks to Cloud that I found out. Some people could have kept it to themselves, scared of causing trouble between couples.
“Thalia!”
“How is that your business?” I retorted, my brows knitted, and I shot a glare at him.
