**Thalia Why did I have to meet this man here? His presence did nothing but sour my mood. I decided to get away from that area, but what if Lilo doesn't find me when she comes around? And the area was so crowded that I didn't know where each side led to. I flung my arm away when he tried to touch me. “Dante, stop getting on my nerves. We are divorced and have nothing binding us together.” “The divorce hasn't been finalised, so we can still get back together,” he said, his voice demure as usual, that it deceived me in the past. I chuckled, “Who told you that?” I didn't want to press further about that, because Lilo had already told me that it would take not less than three months to get done, but I owe no one an explanation. “Just get away, please.” “You see, all those messages I sent were all out of anger. I have thought about it and come to realise how much I loved you and shouldn't have done such to you. I called several times and couldn't reach you, and I was scared to come to the workshop." He attempted to touch me again, and this time I almost smacked him. “Lia, could you give me another chance to prove… “Shut it, i***t!” I snapped at him. At first, he wore a scowl, and now he was begging. Did he take me for a fool? I was finally seeing all through his stupid behaviour and had just realised how I wasted my time with him. “Dante, I won't repeat it after now. Make way for me to see other people.” “Is that why you came to the club? To see people so you can forget about me? I was stunned when I saw you, and now I'm worried about why you had to break your rule and be here tonight. If it's not comfortable, I could take you… “To where?” I flung my hair to the side upon hearing that voice. ‘The biker guy? How did he find me here?’ His gaze was fixated on Dante, and there was this coldness across his face. “How is it your business?” Dante snapped back at him, his forehead wrinkled. The biker walked close to me, “Lilo mentioned coming with a friend. She got busy with the Prez, and I was sent to pick you up. Didn't know it was you.” I found myself smiling back at him, “Yeah, she mentioned that I wait for her here.’ “She had to take permission from the Prez before getting you in; that's the law,” he explained further, and I nodded, finally getting it. “So, welcome to the Thunder Road MC night party,” he said, chuckled and kissed my forehead. My heart raced. I didn't understand what just happened. “Can we now go in?” he offered his hand, but Dante, whose eyeballs were about to fall off his eye sockets, shoved his arm away. “What do you think you're doing? I was here before you, so you don't show up and try… “Who is he?” the biker guy asked me. I scoffed, then answered, “My ex-husband!” He didn't look shocked, as though he were expecting that. “You are her ex and have no business in her life. Stop making things hard for her,” the biker guy retorted at Dante and took my hand this time by himself. “Let's get in…” Dante shook his head at me, “Lia, please don't do this.” “f**k you guy! Don't talk to my woman… don't even touch her,” the biker roared at Dante, and he stepped back. He let go of my hand and held onto my waist this time. I was kinda confused about the whole act and just wanted to believe that he was playing along since I mentioned Dante as my ex. But what about the kiss on my forehead? Was that how they do it here? He took me away from the crowd to the bar side and then offered me a seat there. “You are a good drinker, but don't get drunk,” he said, grabbing a seat for himself too. “Which do you take? Whiskey? That could be too hot for you.” I didn't know how to feel about this whole thing and wanted us to discuss it so I could clear my mind a bit. “Get the women's stuff for her,” he said to the barman, who gave him a thumbs up, and he then turned to me. “I am Vito, what about you?” “Thalia!” He nodded, “So, he calls you ‘Lia’. Can I adopt that?” “Of course! It's the short form of my name.” “Just for now…” “Huh?!” I didn't understand those three words, but he didn't look like he was going to explain further, and I wished I could open his heart to see through what was going on there. “How's work?” he asked, grabbing the bottle of wine placed before us and trying to uncork it. I didn't know how and when, but I explained a whole lot to him, and we laughed at the funny ones. He looked like he was so interested in my story, and I could say that this was the first time someone was hearing me out. “How often do you train fighters?” he asked after so many minutes of my endless stories. I shook my head, “Almost all weekends.” “Good thing! You can train our new enforcers and get paid. I am the head enforcer, and the Prez left it to me to find who will do the training since I'm too busy for that. The club pays well,” he stated, and then sipped down the remaining content in his glass. “What do you say?” “Uhm…” I rubbed my forehead, "I'll have to speak to your Prez about it then, discuss the price and be sure that it's okay for me.” He nodded, “Good idea! It's nice meeting you, Lia.” I chuckled, “You too, Vito.” “You should come around often, and I'll keep you company if you don't want to mingle with the crowd.” I glanced at the crowd once again, "That's not my thing.” “Then I could be your thing here.” Saliva formed in my mouth, and I gulped it down so quickly. “Actually, I might not be here… “Don't say that. We don't bite.” He cut me short and winked. Of course, they don't bite. I was seeing it, even though I knew there could be lots of secrets they were hiding. I shouldn't get deceived by his soft gazes and appearance, because he wouldn't be any different from the rest out there. We drank in silence, my attention shifting from one corner to another, while he was busy with his cell phone. I had just grabbed the bottle to pour myself another glass of wine when someone cleared their throat at my side. I looked to see Freda standing and staring at me with her arms crossed. She had that scornful look, staring as though she had just seen a ghost.
