ISABEL'S POV It was night now, and the silence in the safe house felt even scarier than the actual situation out there. Everyone else was asleep, or at least trying to sleep, but I couldn’t. No matter how hard I tried to calm my mind, it remained restless. Maybe it was because I knew Leo was still out there somewhere, fighting alongside the others. Or maybe it was something else. Either way, I couldn’t shake this restlessness no matter how hard I tried. The safe house was big and comfortable, built far enough from the main pack house to be considered safe and secure. But it didn’t matter how safe or cozy it was—I still felt uneasy. We were isolated here, cut off from any news of what was happening outside.
