ISABEL'S POV. It didn't work. Nothing I did or said was working. No matter how hard I tried, no matter the promises I made, they wouldn't let them go. Instead the man handed me another phone and ordered me to call Leo again. The ringing seemed endless. My trembling fingers gripped the phone tighter as the scarred man’s impatience grew. His one good eye glared at me like a predator eyeing it's prey, and I knew the clock was ticking. What he didn't know was that my prayers had changed.
