I dug my hands into the cool, damp soil, my fingers aching slightly from the repetitive work of planting the fresh vegetables, something I've been doing all morning. Beside me, Lila was practically bouncing with joy, her words spilling out over one another in excitement as she went on and on about the night of the gala.
