“Crrinnnnnggg! Crrinnnggg!”

Rian was awoken by the loud sound of the alarm clock hitting her ears. The female groaned as she covered her ears with her pillow to block the annoying sound. It seemed useless as it’s cring went past the soft and puffy pillow. She had to no choice but to get up and get ready for the new day. The bright sun made her eyes hurt and she had to blink repeatedly in order to adjust to the light.

‘Crrinngnng! Crrinngnng!”, her alarm once again rang as she was about to press the stop button on her alarm, the door suddenly opened revealing her disheveled brother wearing pajamas and hugging apillow.

“Could you turn it off? Im still sleepy.” The walls between her rooms were quite thin and any loud noise would really disturb the other. Rian smiled at how her brother was looking. The male invited himself to her room and collapsed on the her bed.

“Oi. Get out. I need to get ready.” Rian poked her sleeping brother’s cheeks. He looked so tired. He probably had a discussion with his friend once again and it must have been hard. Her brother was pretty a healthy guy. He had enough sleep because he didn't want to get his brain damaged because of some sleeping habits but at times, Louie Schevets would go out of his routine to study. Thats how dedicated he was.

“Im still sleepy. Leave me be.” Louie said with his grumpy morning voice as he pushed Rian out of her bed. The female was forced to use his brother’s bathroom. She took her clothes to her brother’s room and locked the door.

She didn't expect that her brother’s bathroom would be much cleaner than hers. It almost looked sparkling. Lance is really different from other boys and she thinks that Lance may be gay but that it just stereotyping so she shrugged it off and went inside the bathroom.

It has been days since Rian returned to school and she was really anxious about what might happen upon her arrival. It would be super awkward to return to class after a long absence but she knew that if she skipped again, the awkwardness would get bigger. Other than that, she didn't want to see Lance. It was tough to say something about leaving to your new friend and she kinda got attached to the male, she doesn't know what he felt about her but what matters is her opinion.

After bathing, she took out her uniform and wore it. It just arrived about a day ago and she didn't bother to speed things up because her brother would be going with her to give some heads-up to her teachers.

So much for all those thinking, Rian came up to a conclusion to just avoid Lance. Avoiding him would make things easier and with that, the bond that they made might be broken and no one would've hurt if the others leave. It is indeed a selfish and pathetic decision nonetheless, it is what she has decided.

She finally left her brother’s room, fully dressed and as she opened the door, she saw her brother, half-naked, hair wet and a towel draping over his waist.

“What the heck took you so long? Move.” His brother pushed the female out. She thought that he must have taken a shower in her bathroom since the door was lock all along and that he didn't change to any clothes nit that he had a choice.

After all those preparations, the siblings are finally ready to go.

“You know Im not a child anymore.” Rian said, clearly annoyed at the fact that her brother was treating her like a baby and that he was brushing her hair.

“Sure you are.” The male responded as he gave a gentle pat to the female, being cautious nit to destroy her hairstyle.

"Mom we are going now!” Louie said

"Take care honey" Their mother replied.

Lance was panicking. The male didn't want to see Rian. Lance was absent that whole time Rian was absent because being tainted really hurts. At this point, Lance’s wings became black and strangely, his wings were bigger than Kei’s but of course, they still need to hide it here in this realm.

Now that every purity has forsaken him, he is no longer able to touch a cross no matter which hand he use. He was still guilty thats why he needed to talk to Rian although he clearly doesn't want to.

“Stop pouting there and just go meet your princess.” Kei said while watching TV. It has been a lot easier to adapt in the human world and now that no agreement bounded them to do things, they are now free to do things, evil or not. This was one of the reasons that the heavens offered the contract in the first place because Lance was far more stronger than any other demon and that leaving him boundless would be dangerous, of course Lance was oblivious to the reason, he thought that the heavens allowed him to make a deal because they were pitying him and that they saw how such he thrived to become normal.

“I thought that there was nothing more annoying than your voice ringing inside my head but I was wrong. Now that you git out, you blabber too much.” Lance said and laughed.

Lance didn't regret that he took the deal. It cost a lot but he gained a lit more than it caused. Because of Kei, he now had a best friend, a brother and a family. Lance didn't meet his parents, it was said and they were imprisoned in the depths of the heavens or in the depths of the hell. No one really gave him a proper explanation. They could even be dead long ago. Lance just saw his mother in a painting— she was beautiful and divine, she was a warrior, graceful but deadly and hated demons very much but it seemed that her heart was soften by his father who he never really saw, even in the paintingsbut he knew that his father was also a warrior and that the sword that they are using once belonged to him. He tried to question Kei how he got it but he wouldn't tell Lance—the poor male was left in the shadows.

Rian arrived at school and she was quickly greeted by her classmates who almost jumped towards Rian, asking different questions like “How are you?”, “What happened?”, “Are you feeling well now?”.

The accident was really covered but and the others thought that Rian was sent to the hospital because of her bad cough. The request to conceal it was also the decision on the police and the detectives to tried to figure out what happened. In all honesty, Rian faked her ‘memory loss’ about what truly happened. The doctors also believed her since the human brain can do certain things and that Rian might had a severe trauma and pain that her brain immediately deleted its record of what had occurred.

She answered her classmates with things as realistic as she can imagine.

Louie was back at the faculty room to explain what has really happened to her to her adviser and subject teachers but he also asked to keep it a secret and they mustn't talk about a word of it to Rian since it might trigger her ‘trauma.’ They were also asked to keep it silent or else they will deal with the police. Everything went well.

Rian’s eyes went to an unoccupied chair that belonged to Lance. She wondered where he is and what he might be doing these past few days. The teachers may or may not be busy since no one came to give a lecture.

“Rian? Someone is looking for you outside.” Her classmates said. She stood up and headed towards the outside of her classroom where she saw his brother smiling at her.

“Ill be going now. See you after school” Her brother told her.

“Okay. Bye!” She happily said and her brother kissed her of the forehead before leaving. She went inside the classroom and Lance soon came after with a dark and angry aura surrounding him. He was also bombarded with questions during his absence but he didn't answer any of it.

‘Whats wring with him?’ The female thought.

Unfortunately for Rian, Lance saw the lovey-dovey scene earlier and that was then his foul mood had started. Even he couldn't understand himself. Why would he be so upset over something so trivial? Things like being kissed in the forehead might be signs that someone treasures you but the mere thought that someone also made Rian a treasure to them made his blood boil. He wanted to be the only one for the female and he hated that someone was doing the same.

Lance never knew that it was her sibling.

The events that happened turned to be the exact opposite of what Rian had wished to happen. She decided to avoid Lance but turns out, it was Lance who was avoiding her— truly ironic.

She dint know what she did that would make the male super angry at the her.

“Lance. Did I do something wrong?” The female asks the male for the third time already and until now, he just reply with his usual.

“Maybe. Did you do something wrong?” Thesewords, it made Rian’s blood boil.

Rian finally had enough of his behavior, after class was done, she got her bags and went out of the school only to face his brother carrying a lot of things.

“Im going back to school Rian. I have to catch the last trip.” Her brother smiled at her.

“Understood. Thanks Bro. For always being there. Ill miss you.” Rian said and felt a little bit empty that she would be alone at the house, not technically alone but she would not have anyone to talk to since the she was uncomfortable to chat with her parents. Its a given if your parents always goes away because of any business trips.

“Alright. Ill call and text you okay? You better pick up.” Her brother reminded her since she always had her phone in airplane mode because she didn't want to be disturbed while doing some thinking.

“Alright.” Rian responded and Louie once again, gave Rian a kiss on the forehead, it has been his habit whenever he gies away for more than a week. Her brother finally walked away. She sighed and thought that theres nothing to be sad about since he will just come back, once she turned around, she saw a fuming Lance.

He held my wrist and dragged me towards the back of the school. He turned his back on me.

“Oh wow. So what now? Have you decided to talk to me again?” Rian said, a little bit angry. She couldn't understand the male. He ignored her for the whole day and now, he was feeling comfortable with dragging her anywhere?

“Who was that guy?” Lance said in a low voice. He sounded dangerous, like a beast trying to contain its anger.

“Why do you care?” Rian taunted, trying to mask the fear in her voice.

“I need to know or else.” Lance said, sounding much more dangerous.

“He is my older brother all right? Why do you have to act like that? And what do you mean by or else? Well, sorry to say I don't care! Im leaving anyways!” Rian let her emotions take over her. She has been so frustrated to hear about her transfer and now, Lance is super mad about a thing that she doesn't know about?

Lance finally faced her.

“What do you mean by that?” He said, the anger disappearing and replaced by nervousness.

“My parents told me that I should transfer schools and no. I cant do anything about it.” The female replied. Lance was crest-fallen and as if his eyes were turning watery.

He looked at the ground and clenched his hands in his sides.

He then looked back at the female.

“You leave me no choice.”
