Aria Lyall was born at the bottom of the pack hierarchy, an Omega in the ruthless Moonveil Pack where strength and status reign supreme. A nobody. A shadow. A girl destined to serve in silence, shunned and forgotten. Her days are filled with toil and her nights with loneliness, her dreams haunted by a single sliver of hope—that one day, her fated mate will appear and see her for more than her rank.

But fate, it seems, has a cruel sense of irony.

On the night of the sacred Mate Ceremony, the truth hits her like a thunderclap. Her mate—the one person meant to cherish her above all others—is none other than Beta Kian Ralnor, the cruel enforcer who has tormented her for years. And in front of the entire pack, with disgust in his eyes, Kian rejects her without hesitation. The rejection burns through her soul like fire, leaving her humiliated, broken, and yearning for an escape.

Desperate to flee the shame and scorn, Aria stumbles into the forbidden Shadowlands, a dark and untamed wilderness shrouded in mystery and death. The pack has long whispered legends of the cursed forest, tales of monsters lurking beneath its ancient trees, and an ancient power that sleeps within its shadows. No one who enters ever returns. But Aria has nothing left to lose—until she discovers that the legends are far from myths.

Deep within the Shadowlands, Aria encounters a being of immense power and terror, a wolf unlike anything she has ever seen. But instead of devouring her, it binds her to an ancient prophecy: the Omega who will rise to restore balance to the shattered werewolf world. To claim her place as the Moonlight Sovereign, she must awaken her latent powers, confront her darkest fears, and navigate a web of betrayal, ambition, and revenge.

Returning to the Moonveil Pack, Aria is no longer the weak girl they cast aside. Her transformation is undeniable, her aura commanding, her power untamed. She is no longer an Omega but a force to be reckoned with. Yet the path ahead is fraught with peril. Whispers of rebellion ripple through the pack as alliances fracture, and an even greater threat looms on the horizon—a tyrant who seeks to dominate the werewolf world by extinguishing the Moonlight Sovereign’s light forever.

Aria’s journey is one of self-discovery, vengeance, and an unwavering determination to forge her own destiny. Along the way, she attracts unlikely allies, each with their own secrets, loyalties, and desires. Among them, three enigmatic warriors emerge, each with a connection to her past—and perhaps her future. But trust is a luxury Aria cannot afford, especially when the lines between friend and foe blur.

As Aria grapples with newfound power, fractured loyalties, and the weight of the prophecy, her greatest challenge lies within: a heart torn between vengeance and forgiveness, hatred and love. Will she succumb to the darkness threatening to consume her, or will she rise as the beacon of hope her world desperately needs?

The Last Omega: Rise of the Moonlight Sovereign is a tale of resilience and redemption, a gripping werewolf romance steeped in intrigue, betrayal, and sizzling tension. Witness Aria’s evolution from a broken Omega to a powerful sovereign as she reclaims her voice, her strength, and her destiny.

Betrayal runs deep. Power corrupts. Love redeems.

But in the end, only the strongest will rise beneath the Moonlight’s glow.

Chapter 1: Beneath the Moonveil’s Shadow
The forest floor was damp, the earth cool against Aria Lyall’s hands as she knelt to gather fallen firewood. The Moonveil Pack's territory was beautiful, with its sprawling woods and silver-lit skies, but for her, it was a gilded cage. A prison. “Aria!” The sharp bark of her overseer, Beta Kian Ralnor, cut through the stillness. She flinched, clutching the splintered wood tighter to her chest. “You’re slower than usual. Do you plan to finish today, or should I dock your rations for the third time this week?” “Yes, Beta Kian,” Aria murmured, keeping her gaze fixed on the dirt beneath her. Meeting his eyes would only make things worse. She could already hear the snickers of the other Omegas around her, eager to avoid his ire by making her their scapegoat. “Pathetic,” Kian muttered, shoving past her and causing her to stumble. The firewood spilled from her arms, scattering across the ground. As she scrambled to pick up the pieces, the dull ache in her hands reminded her of the long hours she’d already endured today. The Mate Ceremony was set for the evening, and the pack had demanded perfection for the occasion. Aria wasn’t invited, of course. Omegas weren’t worthy of such privileges. Still, she couldn’t help the faint flicker of hope buried deep in her chest. Somewhere in the pack—perhaps even now—her fated mate existed. Maybe, just maybe, he would be different. Maybe he would see her. The distant howl of a wolf broke through her thoughts. The pack was beginning to stir for the ceremony. She quickened her pace, dragging the bundle of wood back toward the packhouse. The grand hall of the packhouse was unrecognisable beneath the swathes of silver and blue decorations. Garlands of moonflowers draped from the rafters, and every surface gleamed with polished elegance. It was a celebration meant to showcase the pack’s strength, unity, and prestige. For Aria, it was a cruel reminder of her place at the bottom. Her gaze lingered on the tables laden with food she wasn’t allowed to touch. She pulled her hood tighter, trying to make herself invisible as she moved among the bustling crowd. Her duty was simple: ensure the torches lining the ceremony grounds remained lit. It was mindless, thankless work, but it kept her away from the cruel laughter and pitying stares. “Aria!” a voice called, sharper than an Alpha’s growl. Luna Elena, the Alpha’s mate, strode toward her. The older woman’s beauty was as cold and flawless as a winter’s night, and her gaze raked over Aria with thinly veiled disdain. “You missed a torch on the western edge. Do I need to remind you what will happen if this ceremony isn’t perfect?” “No, Luna. I’ll fix it now,” Aria said quickly, bowing her head. “See that you do.” With a dismissive wave, the Luna turned and disappeared into the crowd. The western edge of the ceremony grounds was eerily quiet, far removed from the bustling energy of the pack. Aria knelt by the unlit torch, her fingers fumbling with the flint. The night air was sharp, carrying the faint scent of pine and rain. As the flame sputtered to life, a low growl rippled through the silence. Aria froze, her heart lurching in her chest. Slowly, she turned toward the sound. A pair of golden eyes gleamed in the darkness, watching her with predatory intensity. It was Kian. “So, the little Omega thinks she can hide in the shadows,” he said, stepping closer. His voice was laced with mockery, but there was something darker beneath it—something dangerous. “I—I was just—” “You were just what?” Kian interrupted, grabbing her wrist. His grip was bruising, and she bit back a cry. “Useless as always. Do you even realise how much of a disgrace you are to this pack? To the entire werewolf race?” “I’m sorry,” she whispered, though she knew it wouldn’t help. “Sorry?” Kian’s laughter was bitter. “You’ll be sorry when the Alpha sees you slacking. Maybe he’ll finally decide to get rid of you for good.” Tears pricked her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Weakness only invited more cruelty. Before Kian could say more, the distant sound of a bell echoed through the woods, signalling the start of the ceremony. He released her with a sneer, shoving her back toward the packhouse. “Get out of my sight,” he snapped. “And don’t embarrass us tonight. Stay in the shadows where you belong.” The ceremony was a blur of lights and laughter, of wolves celebrating their strength and status. Aria lingered at the edges, her presence unnoticed and unwanted. She told herself it didn’t matter—that she was used to it—but deep down, the isolation gnawed at her soul. And then it happened. The world seemed to still as the Alpha stepped forward, his voice booming as he called for silence. “Tonight, we honour the Moon Goddess by recognising the bonds of destiny she has forged,” Alpha Darius declared. His gaze swept over the crowd, sharp and commanding. “Step forward when you feel the call. Let your mate find you.” One by one, wolves moved forward, drawn to their mates by an invisible force. The air was thick with tension and anticipation. Aria’s heart raced as she felt a strange tug deep within her chest, pulling her toward the centre of the clearing. She hesitated, unsure if she dared to follow it. But then Kian stepped forward, his eyes locking onto hers with a mix of shock and disgust. “No,” he growled, his voice low enough for only her to hear. “It can’t be you.” Time seemed to stretch as the truth settled over her. Kian Ralnor was her mate. And in front of the entire pack, he rejected her. Humiliated and heartbroken, Aria flees into the forest, unaware of the danger awaiting her in the Shadowlands—a danger that will change her life forever.
