Chapter 11: The Chase and Mistake
Jaxon woke up the next day feeling refreshed. He looked around his hotel room and grinned at the fact that he had finally found himself again. He felt certain that this would also help his investigative skills, and that he would be able to find Julius in no time and get Anya back. He just had to figure out where the man went after the park, and he was sure that he would find the answer.
At the office, he found the chief waiting for him at his desk. Jaxon greeted him stiffly and tried to step around him.
“Listen, Jaxon. I want to apologize. What I said yesterday was uncalled for, and I don’t blame you for telling me off. I am sorry about your wife. I truly am. We just have to find this girl. Money talks in this city, and her stepfather is getting irate.
