Chapter 15: Danger Game
Jaxon had been staring at his computer screen for hours when the ringing of his phone made him jump.
“Mr. Lee?” A male voice sounded on the other end.
“Yes?” Jaxon replied.
“This is Dr. Amara at the hospital. Could you come down here, please? It is urgent.”
“I will be right there,” Jaxon said before hanging up and racing out of the office. His stomach was in knots the entire short jaunt to the hospital, and every worst-case scenario ran through his head. He regretted not spending more time by his wife’s side.
He raced up to his wife’s room and was met by the doctor in charge of her care.
