The fight continued and Brian’s parents were being bested by a pack of werewolves consisting of 4 betas. The red eyed alpha watching from the shadows alongside Braeden. The pack’s mission was to grab Brian and they were about to be successful before a group of hunters Harry had called beforehand swept in to save the day.

Harry was born a Smith; a family of hunters who serves as the defender of humans against enhanced humans. He eloped 17 years ago with Melissa during the great supernatural war that killed over a thousand people combined on all sides.

Harry and Melissa were safely transported to a motel where all the stories would unfold before Brian’s ears.

“Long ago, there were two clans of supernatural beings; the werewolves and the werebears who always fought for supremacy and waged wars over territories. The werebears were naturally stronger and bigger but the werewolves were distinguished for their speed and tracking abilities. According to the legend, the bears always went on hibernation at certain periods every year which the wolves took as chances to expand their territory. These acts caused a lot of unrest in the supernatural world with the humans always getting caught in the cross-fires which led to the rise of the hunters mostly comprised of the Smiths. The wars went on and off until Lord Leo put an abrupt stop to it by marrying princess Gabrielle from the werebear clan bringing stability and progress to the world. The couple bore two boys; Eric and Brian and peace reigned until an all-out war broke out 17 years ago leading to the near extinctions of the wolves and bears. The tragic war coincided with the birth of Brian in which lord Leo and Princess Gabrielle lost their lives. After the death of their leaders, the surviving supernatural beings scattered across the world with Melissa saving and running with baby Brian and Harry while the hunters began their quest to exterminate all supernatural humans in order to prevent a resurgence which is why we have been running from a place to another” Melissa explained.

Brian, with the look of shock and uncertainty on his face was trying to process the newly acquired information and he was clearly falling apart. Learning about the deaths of his biological parents and brother brought about an emotional trauma that triggered a change in the colour of his eyes to a stained orange with tears streaming down his cheeks.

He had finally learnt the truth he'd always longed for and it brought him so much hurt. What could he do? His real family is dead, he is a potential hybrid. Brian’s world just changed overnight. That was a lot to take in and he took it well.

“Can we go back to Lockswood?” Brian inquired. Like a man destined for greatness, Brian accepted his situation and was ready to face life head on. He wasn’t running anymore.
