Chapter 35-
Ava POV
I enter the council building in town, my head held high. I hear gossip and gasps going on around me, many surprised that I even showed up. I wonder what Percy has said.
I walk into the waiting room, I arrived half an hour early as I just want to get it out of the way.
“Ava? What are you doing here?” I look up and see Alpha Matthew walking into the room.
“Waiting to be seen, you?”
“Same. What time is your appointment?”
I check my watch, “In about 20 minutes. Yours?”
“Same. Looks like they’re going to speak to us both together.”
“Doesn’t surprise me.”
Silence envelopes us, Matthew not knowing what to say and me just not wanting to talk. I still cannot believe that he can even be in the same room as me, personally I just want to pretend he and Jake doesn’t exist.
