Amber found Ronan’s smile surprisingly reassuring. Taking a deep breath, she returned to the other room, coming out of the Void once she’d finished checking it was empty. As soon as she was out of the Void, she checked the room to make sure there were none hidden in it. The room remained empty.
“We need to come up with another plan. Mine didn’t work.” She answered their questions, explaining what she’d attempted to do.
“Return to the castle,” Kade thought to her. “We’ll figure out a plan together.”
Not having any other idea what to do, and more than a little hungry, Amber said, “Okay.”
“You are going back to the castle.”
Amber nearly laughed out loud at the suspicion she could hear in Kade’s thoughts. “Yeah. I’m hungry and all out of ideas. Besides, we can be back here in seconds now
