The Beginning of a Battle
The dimly lit streets of the city were unusually silent that night. A cool breeze carried whispers of secrets hidden in the shadows. Azzu, a young and determined journalist, walked briskly, clutching his notebook tightly. Inside it lay something that could shake the very foundations of power—the truth that no one wanted to come out.
As he reached his small rented apartment, he quickly locked the door behind him and switched on the light. His heartbeat was still fast, not from fear but from the weight of the revelation he had just uncovered. He threw his bag on the chair and opened his notebook, running his fingers over the freshly written lines.
"The people trust what they see, but the truth is always buried deep beneath the lies," he muttered to himself.
Today had been a long day. He had met an anonymous informant who had handed him a file full of shocking details about a major corruption scandal. But the moment Azzu had stepped out after the meeting, he felt eyes watching him, shadows following him. Was it just his imagination, or was he really being followed?
He shook his head and decided to focus. He took out his phone and dialed his friend Huma, a fellow journalist.
"Huma, I have something big. Something dangerous," Azzu whispered.
"Azzu, you sound worried. What’s wrong?" Huma’s voice was calm but alert.
"I think I’m being watched. I have proof that a powerful political figure is involved in something huge. I need to get this published before it’s too late."
Before Huma could reply, Azzu’s phone buzzed with an unknown number. Hesitantly, he answered.
A cold, emotionless voice spoke, "Azzu, stop digging where you shouldn’t. You have no idea what you’re getting into."
Azzu's grip on his phone tightened. "Who are you?" he demanded, but the line went dead.
A strange silence filled the room. He knew this was just the beginning. The battle for truth had begun, and backing down was never an option.
Azzu took a deep breath, made wudu (ablution), and stood for two rakats of prayer, seeking strength from Allah.
"Ya Allah, guide me on the path of truth and give me the courage to stand firm," he prayed.
After finishing his prayer, he picked up his pen again and started writing. This wasn’t just a story—it was his mission.

Will Azzu uncover the full truth, or will the forces of power silence him before he can?
