CHAPTER 15After the wagon arrived, Zelene was welcomed to Llandover monastery and taken to the infirmary where several women tended to her back wounds. The horses were led through the tunnel to the stables to be brushed down and fed. The wagon was unloaded and the even the barrels containing wine could be rolled inside without springing any leaks. The wagon itself was too large to fit in the tunnel so it was hidden in the forest away from any casual eyes.
Like just about everyone else who had arrived back, Kyla slept in that night and awoke to the sound of the rain lashing the windows and the smell of cooked eggs and fresh bread.
Esme stood beside her bed with a tray of food in her hands. "I baked the bread myself," she said modestly."
