M*M Novel- LGBTQIA CONTEST BLURB Ares Cohen, famously known as Sin, is the type of man they tell you to stay away from. You know, the one with the dark, enticing look, wears a dark, Armani suit and would always be driving the latest Lamborghini? Yeah, that one. Yet one encounter with him was all it took for me to fall in his arms.   CHAPTER ONE Ares Cohen.   What can I say? He is the most arrogant, cold hearted, son of a-   “What the hell is this?” The familiar voice drew me back to reality. Right, I was standing right in front of him in his office, obviously about to be scolded for something, again. At this point, I should have gotten used to his attitude but it didn’t make me want to bite his head off any less.   “Its your coffee, sir,” Restrain was evident in my voice but when you have a boss as arrogant as Ares, then it would take you so much patience to put up with him. More times than I cared to count, I had murdered him mentally or at least wished he could disappear from the face of the earth.   “I can damn well see this is coffee and it is definitely sweeter than I like it. What am I paying you for if you can’t get my coffee right?” His chiseled jaw ticked with rage. I wanted to argue back that I put just a spoon of sugar like how he takes it every day but I hold back. Well, at least that is how I had been doing for the past three days. Heck, I was not even his secretary and he was acting like this.   “I’m sorry Sir. I’ll make you another cup,” I said so I can avoid being scolded again.   “How long have you been working for me um…” he trailed off, brow furrowed lightly.   “Sebastian,” The f*****g i***t didn’t even know my name.   “So how long has it been Sebastian?” He questioned, leaning back on his seat with the white dress shirt stretching across his chest. Why was all that sexiness wasted on such a pesky man?   “In this company? One month, Sir,” I replied.   “One whole damn month and you cannot get my coffee right?” he snapped yet again.   I wanted to snap right there and point out that I was not his f*****g secretary but he was the CEO. The last thing I needed was him firing me just because I couldn’t keep my lips shut.   “It won’t happen again,”   “It better not. Now get me my coffee,” his gaze turned to his open laptop.   Picking up the cup full of steaming coffee, I made my way to the kitchen while placing a call to Lizzie. She picked up on the second ring, her raspy voice managing to sound cheerful despite her sore throat episode.   “What’s up Seb? Wait, let me guess. Cohen is mad at you for something,”   “Just get back to your job. I’m at the verge of losing my sanity at the hands of that son of a b***h. How did you put up with him for the past three years?” I complained bitterly.   “You know I can’t get back to work just yet,” Sadness was evident in her voice. I could not possibly begin to imagine what it was like to lose your boyfriend to another girl and then lose your pregnancy right the next day. That happened two weeks ago and every single day, she sounded more broken than ever.   “How are you holding up?” I questioned in a much quieter voice.   “Not great. You are still coming over after work, right? I could use some company,”   “Since when have I ever failed to drop by for the past two weeks? And don’t worry. I’ll get your ribs,” I added.   “Thank you so much Seb,” she replied in a softened voice.   “Don’t mention it,”   “I mean it. If it weren’t for you, I would have probably taken my own life by now. So, thank you for always being there for me even at my worst, “she cleared her throat as she added, “If he is crankier than normal that means there is something else bothering him. Probably his family or some pesky girl. My advice is for you to steer clear from him as possible,”   “Maybe he didn’t get much p***y last night,” I joked as I added a spoon of sugar into the new cup of coffee.   “Or maybe he is just too pissed off by insubordination,”   “You just sounded like-Sir!” I almost dropped my phone in shock as I turned around, my back pressed against the marble counter with my eyes growing a little too wide for my face. Now I was definitely going to get fired.   Mr. Cohen stood with his hands deep in his pockets as he regarded me with the serious look of someone ready to shoot lasers at me with his eyes. Then slowly, he made his way over, stopping just paces away from me. It didn’t help that he was taller than me and that he was only a few breathing spaces away from me. I could literally feel his addictive cologne finding its way into my nostrils as he stared down at me.   “So apparently instead of making my coffee, you are gossiping about me with your friend,” he breathed out, breaking the silence around us.   “I was not gossiping, Sir and I was just about to bring your coffee,” I said, ignoring the loud drumming of my heart.   “I just looked you up. Why didn’t you tell me you are one of the scouting agents?” Oh, so he now looked me up? Good for him. How the hell could he even forget that I tried to tell him but he blew me off?   “I didn’t think it was important, Sir,” I replied, fingers bunched into a fist behind me to avoid saying anything that would piss him off more.   “Of course it is important. As a scouting agent, you should be looking out for the who is going to be the next big thing in the industry. How did you even end up acting as my secretary? Because judging from the shoddy work you are doing, you are not cut out for that,” he didn’t sound angry any more but his words did sting. Shoddy work, really? I have been at his beck and call while trying to balance my job and he thought I did a shoddy work? Well, f**k him.   “Actually, you did sir. Three days ago, you found me at the cafeteria with my friends and just ordered me to get your coffee. After that you said I would step in as your secretary for a few days with a bonus on top,” Fancy of him to forget that.   “I did? Hmm…whatever. Just get me my coffee before it gets cold and also, I’ve got some paper work I need you to go through since you are clearly not doing much around in the company,” And here I thought, he was about to let me off the hook. For God sake, I had my own work at the company and as much as I needed that bonus, dealing with Ares Cohen was something I was beginning to dread completely.
