“Let me out!” I screamed. But only my echoes were heard. Fear consumed me as I tried to free my hands. But something tight held them together.
The fear of darkness plus being claustrophobic made me panic. My heart beat wildly in my chest and my breathing slowed. I began to thrash around until the sack was yanked from my head.
It took a while before my eyes got adjusted to the darkness in the room. But the darkness was bearable because after getting adjusted to the light, I noticed a silhoutte standing a few feet away from me.
That made my heart jump to my mouth. I hated shadows. The figure was still watching me. I remember a sack was yanked from my head which meant someone behind me had done it.
My fear hasn’t let me be overly aware of my surroundings. But as my heart slowed, I noticed a big burly man standing beside me.
Turning my face back around, I observed the figure in the shadow. An overhead dim light was above me, it cast some light towards the figure.
It moved. Then began walking towards me. It was a woman. That I could tell from her walking steps and the curve to her thighs. She was wearing black baggy pants and a turtle neck with long sleeves.
She came to stand in front of me and I could make out her facial features. She was young. Maybe in her thirties or forties. But that was all I could tell about her. And yes, she had a very powerful aura. One which only belonged to the Alpha bloodline.
She stood there watching me. And I watched her back. Every cell in me wanted to back down. I didn’t. I did nothing wrong so I shouldn’t be scared. However, all my body responses betrayed me as sweat dripped from my forehead.
I couldn’t take the silence any longer, “what do you want?”
She smirked, “Aren’t you going to thank me?”
Thank her? My brows furrowed. What was she on to?
“Yes, thank me,” she rolled her eyes, “I just saved you.”
Either the woman was drunk or a psychotic patient, I couldn’t understand her. She just kidnapped me and said she saved me. I’m in more danger than I give myself credit for.
Sensing my silence and judgment towards her, she crossed her hands above her breasts. All smirk and amusement were gone from her face.
“I’ll cut to the chase because we don’t have a lot of time. I need you just the same way you needed me. I saved you. And you have to pay back.”
“You didn’t save me. And I didn’t ask to be let out of that car.” I looked away from her forest green eyes, “Besides I’m in more danger here.”
She hissed, bent down to my level, and griped my face in hers, “You’re in my territory and will do as asked! I have no time for ungrateful little bitches like you.”
Her fingers cut deep into my skin, almost drawing blood. My heart hammered in my chest at the realization that I was dealing with a psychopath. And I have to do whatever it is she wants. Or I wouldn’t like the consequences.
“What do you need me to do?” I choked out and she released me harshly.
“Good question. All details will be sent to you later. I need you to eat and rest because you will need the strength tomorrow,” she said, getting up to leave.
My labored breathing lasted for about ten minutes after she had gone. Even though I didn’t want to admit it, she did save me.
Killers of Alpha blood are usually taken to the werewolf council for punishment. And it was about an hour's drive from my pack. That’s what I heard the guards talking about in the car.
The thought of Jackson and what happened made my heart ache. I tried reaching out to my wolf once more but just like before she was silent.
The day went by in a blur as I was taken to a small single room to eat and sleep. And for the first time in days, I dreamt about something other than Jackson.
However, the next morning greeted me with a shock. As I stared at the envelope in my hand, I knew I was doomed to die today or tomorrow.
I had woken up to the sound of a large bell. Opening my eyes, I noticed an envelope that wasn’t on the ground yesterday. Tearing it open, an instruction was written in slanted handwriting.
It informed me I was to kill and man by midnight today. I started freaking out while I patched the room. My thoughts swirled. I had never killed someone before. Why would she think I’m the perfect one for this job? This made no sense.
I am an omega, frail and fragile. And she wanted me to f*****g kill a man. I needed answers.
After banging on the door, nobody answered. Except a timid girl who came to drop a bowl of porridge for me. And as the sun crept behind the clouds, I knew this was my fate.
Midnight arrived. My nerves were frayed. It’s either I die or I die. I said a little prayer to the moon goddess as I was guided by two guards out of the house. I didn’t know my whereabouts because a scam was thrown on my head until we reached a clearing.
Observing my surroundings, I found out we were in a brightly lit room. From the interiors of the room, I guessed it to be a hotel of some sort.
“What do you want me to…” I turned towards one of the big guards who had on a mask.
“Hush...” he silenced me and brought out a Bluetooth eyepiece from a bag.
“You will wear this. Let down your hair so it won’t be visible,” he stopped and brought out something from his bag. “And take this. It’s a special dagger. You go in as a slut, get him drunk. And when he is, stab him with this. Slip out unnoticed and meet us here. If things go sideways, alert us with this Bluetooth, and we'll come get you,” he instructed, handing me the dagger while the other guard fixed the Bluetooth on me.
I stood transfixed. Too stunned in fear to speak. This was really happening. Cold air brushed my arms. And I shivered. I had been forced into a very skimpy dress which showed all my curves and more than half of my boobs.
They were done fixing the Bluetooth on me. And the dagger expertly hidden in my high-length boots.
“Any questions?” The guard asked. I shook my head, and he took my hand and led me towards a door. In the hallways, there were no security cameras. But it didn’t lessen my panic.
The guards turned around and went back into the room we had come out of. Taking deep breaths, I raised my hand and knocked on the door.
