My Mate

Ben's POV

               I got out of bed hearing Kylie calling for me to get ready for school. I really hate going to school, It's getting annoying taking college a hundred times already. Did I say a hundred times? Yes a hundred times, my family and I are a coven of vampires. We are one of the oldest covens in the world. Our coven was founded 500 years ago by our adopted father Xavier, the royals are the oldest of us living for 2000 years already.

I hop into the shower, the water running through my hair. I wrapped my waist with a towel after taking a bath. I go through my closet and choose something to wear. I wore a white t-shirt with a leather jacket and black jeans. I looked at the mirror and smile at myself. I got down the stairs and head to the refrigerator to get some blood bags.

"Come on bro, we are going to be late." Said Ralph slightly punching me in my arm.

We headed outside seeing our sisters waiting for us within the side of our cars. Vanessa glared at me, but I only laugh at her.

"Took you long enough Ben" Vanessa said. 

"Chill out Vanessa, we'll be at school in no time." I said

I got in the driver's seat with Kylie in the passenger seat, while Ralph also sat in the other car with Vanessa. I felt something in my stomach telling me there is something gonna happen, but didn't mind it.

We arrived at school in less than 10 minutes, we got out of the car and head inside the campus. Walking along the school halls, we see students eyeing us like we are a piece of candy, some are looking at us with lust. Well, who doesn't, not to brag but we are a group of attractive students. Being a vampire makes us beautiful, it is always natural to us. I walked inside in my first class, I sat near the window not minding our professor talking, but suddenly a smell of vanilla gets my attention. I looked around and saw the very beautiful girl I have ever seen she looked human. We made eye contact and there I have known that we are mates, but the professor said something to her interrupting us.

"Ms. Kendall Rivers take your seat at that vacant chair next to Mr. Mcvey and meet me after class." The professor said.

The girl was going towards the seat next to me. She sat there quietly, so I took it as a chance to talk to my mate.

"Hi, my name is Ben Mcvey, and yours?" I said introducing myself.

"Kendall Rivers, nice to meet you" My mate replied shyly.

The professor finished discussing and gave us an activity. I finished it quickly, hundred years in college was not all for nothing. I was about to get my pen but accidentally shove it making it fall. Leaning a bit to reach for it, a hand touch mine sending tingles and shocks throughout my arm. I immediately snatch my pen from the ground.

's**t what was that?' I heard Kendall muttered because of my vampire hearing. She must have felt the mate bond too.

The class ended, I saw Ralph with my sisters in the hall near my classroom, I walked to them and told them that we should head to the cafeteria. We don't go to the cafeteria to eat but still go there for our cover as students. Passing through the cafeteria door, I already smelled the sweet vanilla scent of my mate. I saw her and her friends talking, I looked at the table near them and luckily it is empty. I go to the empty table, while my siblings followed me. I saw Kendall looking at me and I smirked at her.

'Guys I am going to get a bottle of water' I heard Kendall say to her friends.

I stared at her while she was standing up. She noticed me and looked away. I followed her and I felt that she will look back and I used my vampire speed to go to in front without any human noticing. Although, other supernatural creatures like werewolves, other vampires, witches, fairies, and more would notice it. I felt her shock to see I am not in my seat but more shocked to see me in front of her.

"Hey, looking for someone?" I asked her.

"No, I was just want to know if Hanna would like something." I know she lied because her heart was beating faster but set it aside and made her think I believe her.

We talked until the bell rang and students are already standing up and going out of the cafeteria. I noticed her friends finding her so I said my goodbyes.

"Catch you later at the room." I said to her. I headed towards the classroom.

The Class has already started and the professor told us to pair. I noticed Kendall hasn't had one so I offered her to be my pair. Well, I don't want my mate to pair with another man. I became angry of my own thoughts so I disregarded it.

"Hey, let's pair together." I said to Kendall who jumped at my sudden question.

"Sure." Said Kendall.

The class went well and we even topped the activity. Kendall going was already going out, and I also headed towards the parking lot and saw that Ralph, Kylie, and Vanessa were already there waiting. I saw that Kendall and her friends are walking home. I said to Kylie if she could have a ride in Ralph's car and she said yes. I quickly drive to her and called her. She saw it was me and asked me.

"Hey Ben what are you doing?" she said confused.

"Wanna ride home?" I said and saw her friends' reaction.

"Thank you for your offer but we are going home together." She said I felt disappointed that she rejected my offer. But one of her friends, I think that it was Hannah, said that it was okay and nudge Kendall to go. I felt that she couldn't win even if she argue with her friend. Therefore, she accepted my offer, I was happy that I get to drive home my mate even if she didn't know that I am her mate. The ride was short and we already arrived at her house.

"Thanks by the way for taking me home." Kendall said smiling.

"Your welcome, princess". I said and drive my way home. I thought of going out with her this coming Sunday for us to get to know each other more. I smiled at my idea, I arrived at our house and go inside my room planning or little date.
