ONE MONTH LATER..
Elizabeth, dressed in a tailored suit to fit her body and curves alighted from the car that had brought her to the Company. Everyone turned to have a second look at the beautiful, alluring lady walking in. It has been like that for the longest two weeks since she resumed work in the company. Her Mother had put her on training, under the expertise of Mr.Wick, happy that she was finally showing interest in the Company.
Obviously, the sick girl had not cared if the Company was breathing or not, her major concern had been her boyfriend that she would do anything to please. He later married her, but she was always the one doing things even when he openly cheated on her sometimes.
Elizabeth was disgusted by what she was going through. She was the center of rumors and stares Of 'Don't-belong-here' but she was determined to make all that change..
She couldn't care less about a husband she hadn't seen since she woke up, she was just concerned with her work..
Soon, she proved to everyone her capabilities and started shutting them up..
"Good Morning, Ma'am." Her workers greeted as she went up to her mother's office.
"Good Morning,Mom." She greeted the woman who looked like she dotted on her daughter very much. The Woman looked too much like her, more like the older version. It was hard at first, calling a total stranger Mom, but soon, she liked it. Since she never had her own Mother anyway.
"Look who's here!My little Munchkin, how are you this morning?" Mrs.Carson pulled her cheeks. "I can see you're enjoying the job. Don't know what your uncle told you, but I'm glad you finally showed interest in the Company. After all, it's all going to be yours one day."
Elizabeth nodded, "It was about time. There is going to be a shareholder's meeting soon. We need to revaluate our Stocks, Prices, Revenues and Shares."
"Perfect, I know you've got it covered. You don't know how happy this makes me." Elizabeth smiled genuinely. For some odd reasons, she liked and enjoyed making this woman proud and happy. It made her happy too.
"Well, I'll go back to my office. See you soon." She pecked her and turned to leave.
"Andrew called, said he couldn't reach you. You changed contacts,I told him. I think he'd be coming home tonight and you should leave early." Mrs.Carson informed her.
"Yes,Mom." She said simply and left.
Mrs.Carson seemed surprised. The Elizabeth she knew very well would have left work today just to go home and make sure she put everything in place. Despite the embarrassment and disrespect Andrew gave to her daughter, she couldn't tell why she even loved him because it was obvious that he didn't respect talk more of love her.
Maybe, Elizabeth was really changing. She felt glad. It was about time.
The time was almost past 9 when Elizabeth left the office. She was the last to leave, she had worked late that night to catch up with work and look for any possible traces of embezzlement of funds. She was going to change everything through and through.
Driving felt very tiresome for her so instead, she booked a cab. In about 25 minutes, she was already in front of her husband's mansion. She alighted and went inside, hearing loud songs from the sitting room as she entered.
"And Where are you coming from this late at night?" She heard a voice ask her as she turned. Oh,She totally forgot, today was the day her supposed husband was to be back..
"Listen, I'm so tired right now and I can't deal with your unnecessary whining,as you can see,I had a hectic day at work. So, just leave me alone."
Andrew felt like he has been slapped. He wasn't drunk, at least not yet,and he could see quite well. The lady in front of him was his wife,Elizabeth, but, he wasn't so sure now.
"What did you say?" He seethed, grabbing her arm.
Elizabeth glared at him, "The last time someone grabbed me,he was stabbed with a ballpoint pen. I'd kindly advise you to let go,right now. And please, take it."
The whole party stopped. Everyone was dumbfounded. Andrew scoffed.
"Is this some kind of joke,Eli?" He scoffed again.
"It's Elizabeth to you,Mr.Andrew. I have a long day ahead tomorrow. Goodnight." She snatched her hand from his grip and walked away, stunning the partying crew.
In the Morning, Elizabeth went to the house's gym and was working out when someone gripped her from behind but he was soon on the floor. She had been taking self-defense classes, thanks to Mr.Wick's expertise.
Andrew was yet to recover from the shock when she bent to his height.
"People creeping up on me are at their own risks." She said.
Andrew hastily stood up, "What's the meaning of all of this,Eli? Where were you last night and what have you been up to?" He questioned angrily.
She took her water bottle to drink water and Andrew found himself mesmerized by her. What? Hell no,they had been married for two years and there was nothing mesmerizing about Elizabeth. She was this whiny, clingy girl who just wouldn't let go. Well, if not for her Mother's Company, he had no business being with her.
"For the second generous time, and the last..It's Elizabeth. I'm already late for work. As you can see, I've no business being here with you exchanging words."
She turned to leave but he gripped her. "Work?" He sneered, "What Work? Have you forgotten the deal we have?" He sounded a bit desperate now and Elizabeth found herself amused.
It reminded her of Steven, which simply meant that Elizabeth had made a deal with her boyfriend. Putting two and two together, she quickly figured what the deal was about. How pathetic of this girl. She was just a dimwit.
"Mr.Andrew, I'm no longer interested in this deal.." She said, smirking. She had her suspicions about what the deal was but she needed a confirmation from him.
Andrew's eyes grew wide and when he spoke next, he was stammering. "What..are..you talking about?" He said, but grew angry. "Do you know what it means? If you defy me and keep on going to that work,I'll divorce you." He said, trying to hide the desperation and fear in his voice.
Elizabeth was enjoying this. She didn't know she could have this kind of thrill by making people quiver.
Especially pathetic, stupid men like this jerk of her husband, or rather Elizabeth's husband and the likes of him.
"Do I need to jog your memory? Before I agreed to marry your crappy, clingy ass, We had a deal that you wouldn't show interest in any of the affairs of the Carson's business. You just needed to get it from your mother and sign it to my name. As long as you did that, we would stay married! Have you forgotten so easily?" He gripped her harder. Desperation and fear written all over him.
He was Afraid.. Of this new Elizabeth and What she might really do. Elizabeth was totally enjoying herself.
"Well, We could always get a divorce. I have no interest in staying married to a cheating, lying jerk." She responded calmly, smirking as she watched all the colors drain from his face.
"What?" Andrew scoffed, refusing to believe. "You want to get a divorce? From me? Do you honestly think any man would want you as a wife out there? You're so worthless, you should be happy I'm putting up with you."
Elizabeth sighed, "Where do you men get all these crappy lines from? Look at me instead. Do you honestly think no man wouldn't want me as a wife? If I ran a show, it'd be sold out before you even bought the tickets." She turned around and Andrew gulped. She was right. She was just perfect, flawless even. But, he wasn't going to agree to that.
"I'd have my lawyer contact you to start the divorce proceedings." She released her hand from the grip and rubbed it a little. "Don't ever grip me like this again. You might not be so lucky next time." Turning she started walking away.
"You'd regret this." She heard him say.
"We'll see, Mi Amor. We'll see."
