CHAPTER 18
The moment the office clock struck five, Tara practically fled. She didn’t wait to organize her desk.
After what had happened in his office earlier, she wasn’t sure she could survive another minute around him.
Her wrist still tingled where he had grabbed her. The memory made her stomach twist.
She quickly pulled out her phone.
“Anne.”
Her best friend answered on the second ring.
“Tara? What’s wrong?”
“I need to see you.” The concern in Anne’s voice deepened immediately.
“What happened?”
“Please. Just meet me.”
There was a brief pause. Then Anne said softly,
“Send me the location.”
Thirty minutes later, Tara sat in a quiet corner of a small cafe.
