Joy woke up earlier and freshened up immediately. She dressed up in a pink floral free gown, that was a bit above her knees, applied mild makeup, brushed her long brown her neatly, and let them down on her shoulder.

James was already at the dining table about to have his breakfast and set out thereafter. He heard footsteps down the stairs, and stared to see Joy looking so beautiful yet in her simple outfit with shows her beautiful and white legs. He cannot help but be mesmerized by her beauty.

He composed himself before Joy got nearer but this did not elude Ms. Gloria's eyes. She was reeling with laughter but dared not laugh. She was glad, he could get someone as peaceful and easygoing as Joy.

"Good morning, Young Madam." the housekeeper chimed in.

"Good morning, Ma'am."

"Good morning. Hubby." It took James by surprise yet he still responded.

"How was your night, My lady."

"It was splendid."

"I thought you would still be sleeping."

"My first class comes early this morning, I woke early to get ready." James loves how seriously she is taking the whole thing. James finished breakfast, bid farewell to his wife, and set out. James had already discussed with the housekeeper about his wife taking up some online programs.

She in turn suggests she should be able to find the conservatory comfortable. Ms. Gloria directly her there directly after breakfast, it was to her liking. She resumed there before the lecture started, she had lagged for some weeks. She needed to be early to class to meet up, so she joined the class immediately after they started. The first lecture transpired on Zoom, she listened with rapt attention and also penned down some points.

The other lectures took place and soon lectures were done for the day. Ms. Gloria brought her lunch when it was afternoon. She stayed back to study some course outlines on her own because she missed the classes. James returned and met her studying, she was so concentrated that she didn't notice his arrival. He left for his room to attend to other things he didn't want to distract her.

He met Ms. Gloria while going to his room, demanding to know if she had food intake while studying.

"Yes, Young Master I ensure she had appropriate meals while studying." James nodded his head and headed to his room. He soon got busy with some work in his study room, he got down to have a quick snack when Joy met him. She was surprised to see him and wondered when he would arrive back.

"I returned not quite long and you were so engrossed with your study with full concentration."

"Oh! Was I that serious?"

"Of course, to the extent you didn't notice my arrival. How have lectures been going? Hope you are meeting up.

"It's going fine and I stay back a bit to meet up with previous lectures I have missed."

"Well done, Wifey." He smiled authenticating his handsome face more. Joy was lost in the trance of the sight in front of her.

"Hope you don't have any difficulty so far." James brought her back to earth.

"Not really, I have a presentation tomorrow and I don't know how to go about it yet" He promised to assist her with it after dinner. They went to their respective rooms to continue their work. Joy on getting to her room, could not concentrate. She is already mesmerized by what she witnessed earlier.

She jeered from her thought and questioned herself, "What going wrong with you, can you just focus? It's a contract marriage wake up, in a matter of some years now it will be over." She consoled herself. She promised to remain focused and achieve things she can achieve within the stipulated time.

After dinner, they retired to James' study room, where he was able to get some resources that could put her through with her presentation and they researched other means that could put her through. She returned to her room to organize the data she had gotten, the resources she had were really handy. She appreciated James for making everything so easy for her.

She resumed earlier for class the next day at the usual place leaving about thirty before the class began, she had prepared well for the presentation. Still, she was somewhat anxious and scared.

James noticed her feeling uneasy, so he decided to send her an encouraging text while leaving home. She appreciated the kind gesture with a smile, which did not elude James. The class started, and each student started their presentation. Despite panicking and being new to the whole thing, her presentation was fabulous and she got the credit for the job well done.

She was elated and couldn't wait to tell James how the presentation went when her phone rang. The Doctor called to inform her that the organ was available and her father's operation would commence in an hour. When she got off the phone she set aside everything and texted James about going to the hospital.

She informed Ms. Gloria too, who made necessary arrangements for her including the driver to get her to the hospital. In less than a few minutes, the driver was ready with the car parked in front of the house. She got the necessary things and headed out for the hospital.

Joy got there on time to sign the operation permit form, she stayed in the lobby while her father was taken into the operating room. Joy could not stay still, anxious and scared at the same time, she was pacing back and forth from the operation room entrance hoping for the best. The first she promised to do when her father was clear of the ailments was to back to the remote side to live a peaceful life.

The father and child left the city after the circumstances that turned things around for them and they settled in one remote side of the country where they had a peaceful life. The father was a fishmonger, his business was booming. They had to return to the city because Joy's favorite course of study was in the city.

So they had to move to the city, to further her education. On getting to the city, Joy was able to pursue Arts in a college, things turned sore when her father developed an aliment when she was almost done in college. She begins to work on several shifts to meet up with his hospital bills.

Things got better when she met James. She would be ever grateful to him, for liberating her from the pitiable situation she had encountered. She can hear some footsteps ahead of her and can see a tall feature, dressed in a navy blue suit and pants.
