Meanwhile, Ms. Gloria has been contacting Joy from time to time to know the situation of things and she had in turn filled James in with necessary information. During the meeting James could not concentrate fully, he had to leave the meeting and head to the hospital to meet his wife.
Joy sighted a figure heading towards her, a tall and sturdy man dressed in a navy suit. It turns out to be James, she feels like crying. She had never had such support in years, James just kept coming through for her.
"Are you fine, Wifey?"
"No." Tears came streaming down from her eyes, James could not withstand it. He wrapped her in his warmth and pats her back. They stood there for some minutes while Joy took her time to sob, when she had sobbed to her heart content James offered her handkerchief.
They went and sat down in one of the lobby chairs. She almost fell while walking, her legs were numb she couldn't believe she had been standing for hours. James helped her to sit and ask asked if she had eaten.
"Am sorry, I was so absolved with the whole situation, that I forgot to eat."
"It's Okay. Let's order something for you." He ordered a late evening snack and drinks for her.
He watched her take each bite and he could not help but pitied her.
"Everything will be fine, okay." He assured her. She nodded her head.
"Try and stop neglecting yourself too."
"I will. Thanks, hubby."
The door was opened at last, they stood up to ask the doctor how the operation went.
"The operation went well, he has passed the difficult stage. Hope for the best for now." the doctor assured her. She can now calm down, they settled back on the chair. James was asked to be excused because he needed to sort out some things.
Mr. Howard was pushed back to his room after the operation, Joy was back to her father's room. She kept staring at him and offered a silent prayer for him to be up on his feet soon. She couldn't sleep, she kept staring at her father. James demands that she leave the hospital to rest at home the following day.
Joy left the hospital early in the morning for the penthouse, as she was about to enter the house she collapsed. Ms. Gloria came to her aid on time, she carried her together with some workers and contacted the family doctor and James. James called back to ask if the doctor was around. James excused himself once again from the meeting, as he had to leave to attend to something urgent. The people he was meeting with were already worried about him, thinking about what was taking his time at this crucial period. The company will be handed over to him in a matter of hours from now.
He got his car and sped off, at that moment he was filled with emotions of hate, anger, and panic. He did not know what went wrong with her. On getting home, he went straight to her room and barged in. He met the doctor and Ms. Gloria there.
"What's wrong with her?" He demanded
"Her body is under stress, she had gone through some hard labor that is taking a toll on her body." James could not deny this, he knows this to be true.
"I have given her the necessary drugs to revalidate her body, she will need adequate rest and enough balanced diet. She can't take solid food yet, she needs nutritious soup"
The doctor left, and James remained by her side, he did not know if he should be angry with her for not taking care of herself or pity her for carrying the burden alone all these years. Soon she opened her eyes and sighted James who was looking dejected.
He noticed she was too tired to talk.
"You fainted when you got home, your body could not withstand the stress again." She signed and asked for water. James took the flask of water placed beside her bed, poured lukewarm water into the cup, and helped her sip. Ms Gloria soon came with Lentil soup with a spoon on a bed tray. James helped her to sit upright and fed her.
She wanted to object at first but James' warning gaze put her off, after eating he gave her the drugs. Right before she dozed off, James instructed her not to leave her room for anywhere under any circumstances.
He instructed Ms. Gloria not to allow her to leave her room and that she should help take proper care of her. He got into his car and headed for his secret base, to make final preparations for tomorrow's event.
The largest entertainment Industry in the city is getting ready for tomorrow's event. It is an event that investors around the world do not want to miss, it always involves the industry stars, the shareholders, dignitaries around the city, broadcasters, and the industry staff.
Matt Andrew was also making necessary preparations for the event, he had placed his gangs in respective areas to avoid any loopholes from surfacing. They were majorly targeting James, in case he showed up for the meeting, instructions were given to them to put him off.
Before the week of the event, James had already prepared armed and trained personnel, around the city to get any evidence of unlawful acts of gang and also put them off. They had been working undercover since then, and through their surveillance, they had some information about some gang members who were being discharged. They are preparing to round them off tonight.
On D-day, we can see a group of shareholders gathered in a board room, and not quite long the Chairman, Pa. Andrew was ushered in with Matt Andrew and some security personnel. The Chairman and all other members settled down. Matt was pleased when he did not see James anywhere around, he concluded he had traveled back. The meeting soon kicked start, and the directors for each section made reviews of their numerous projects that had embarked on or concluded.
Pa. Andrew lamented that their market stock is plummeting due to backstabbing from some of the members and something needs to be done fast to regulate it. There were sighs from various angles knowing that not improving the stock would bring unimaginable setbacks in their lives too.
"I will be handing over the mantle of the industry, since the demise of my son and his wife it has not been easy. Let's offer a minute of silence. After the silence, he continued his words.
The person who will be taking over from me is a Prestigious entertainment manager nicknamed The Mantras." Everyone was caught off guard, they had quite heard of the overseas Mantra.
He was the talk of the World Entertainment industry. He helps to manage the major entertainment industry, that is if you can afford the fees. Everyone keeps wondering how he is related to the Chairman.
"As you know he is a renowned entertainment industry manager, we need such hands in time like this. Before I introduce him properly, I would like to warn those of you backstabbing the industry to beware. Some evidence has been discovered, if it's traced towards you, then know you are paying dearly for it." He instructed his Secretary to usher him in, he strode into the board room.
Matt could not believe his eyes, he nearly had a heart attack just now.
