Dinner that night was quiet until Logan came down to join her.
“Hey,” he greeted as he sat across from her. “How was your rest?”
“It was so nice. The place is great.” Addison responded.
“I’m glad it’s to your taste. You might need to do a little bit of shopping for yourself and everything you’ll need tomorrow, Andrew will give you the card.” Logan said. Addison had brought only a few clothes along with her. She really needed to go shopping.
“It’s fine, Logan. I don’t need your card, you forgot I earn my own money.” She said, using his card to buy things for herself was only going to make her feel uncomfortable. Besides, the only reason she was in this marriage was to catch her father’s killer, she wasn’t after any other benefits.
“About that…” Logan paused to look at her. “you won’t be going back to work, Addison.”
“What do you mean?” She asked, confused.
“We can’t be working in the same office as husband and wife, you know that.” He stated. Addison hadn’t thought that far yet.
Was she about to be unemployed and stuck alone in this house?
“What the f**k, Logan?!” She raised her voice as she dropped her fork and stood up furiously.
“Addison, I’m not doing this on purpose. It simply doesn’t make any sense for my wife to be my secretary.” He defended.
“So, I’m supposed to sit here alone in this huge mansion with nothing to do for 15 months?!”
“There’s a lot to do other than work, Addison. There’s just no way we can work together being a married couple.” He said firmly.
Addison couldn’t believe her ears, she felt conned. She stomped out of the room furiously.

The next morning, she got prepared while video calling her sister. She gave Eva a tour of her room which left Eva’s mouth open in awe. Addison was leaving for the mall in a bit.
She hung up and went downstairs, she was headed out the door when her attendant called out to her.
“I’ll go along with you, ma’am.” She said, running towards Addison.
“I’m going alone.” Addison said.
“I’ll simply accompany you ma’am.” She insisted.
“And I said I'd prefer to shop alone! Can I not leave the house on my own!” Addison shouted, startling the servants around.
“Ma’am, Mr. Stoneborne instructed that I give this to you” the butler said as he approached her, holding out a card to her.
“I have mine.” Addison said firmly, shooting a glare at him as she stormed out of the house. She’d been a frustrated mess since last night’s conversation with Logan and she didn’t know how to properly channel it.
The driver stopped the car in front of the most expensive mall in London. Addison had figured that if she was going to be the wife of one of London’s finest billionaires, then she would need to dress like one.
“It'll be a while. You can leave until I call for you.” She ordered as she got out of the vehicle.
She walked into the mall, determined to find the best clothes for less. But she was highly mistaken, her idea of ‘less’ did not fit into the profile of this mall and it was as unsurprisingly void of customers as the items were expensive.
Every single thing she liked was things she couldn’t even dream of affording. Now that she had no job, she’ll have no source of income and all she could rely on was her savings. She finally understood why Logan had offered his card and was starting to regret not taking it.
“Ughhhh!” a loud groan of frustration escaped from her lips unconsciously causing the man before her to drop his phone in startlement.
“I’m so sorry,” She hurriedly crouched down in sync with him to pick it up.
“It’s fine,” he smiled, he looked familiar to her and she wondered where she had seen him.
“I’m so sorry,” she apologized again.
“Having a bad day?” he asked, his deep voice melting through her heart.
“Yea,” she sighed. His smile was bright enough to light up a room, Addison found herself lost in his ocean blue eyes.
“Same,” he said. Addison smiled. She took a closer look at him and a gasp escaped from her lips, she recognized him now.
“Gabriel! Right?” She exclaimed, eyes widened in discovery. “Logan’s cousin!”
He opened his mouth in surprise as he slowly recognized her too. “Addison. It’s so difficult to recognize you outside of the office and in casual clothes, my bad.” He said as they both laughed.
“It’s not like we’ve ever really had a conversation before, I never imagined that you would be this gentlemanly quite honestly.” She confessed. “Plus, Logan’s not exactly your biggest fan…”
“So, he told you to keep away from me, right?” He completed, still smiling. “I’m aware, and yes you're right. We don’t really get along that well.”
Addison wasn’t surprised, Logan had always warned her to stay away from Gabriel, Addison had no idea why and Logan would never tell her. But Gabriel had always been a sensitive topic to him.
“Is that why you didn’t attend the wedding?” She asked.
He chuckled. “No invitation.”
Addison rolled her eyes. Of course. Logan was petty like that. She wondered whether they had any childhood dispute that left them so distant from each other.
Gabriel stared at her. In such a way that it made her uncomfortable. He was a gorgeous man, Addison could never behave around a gorgeous man.
“It’s a shame that I’ve never noticed it before, and I'm not sure it's appropriate to say that now, but you’re a beautiful young lady.” He said causing Addison’s legs to weaken. “Your husband is a very lucky man.”
She found herself speechless, simply gazing into his eyes until she got a hold of herself. What the hell was she doing? This was her husband’s brother.
“I have to go now. My driver must’ve been waiting a while.” She said as she awkwardly rushed out without another word.
She needed to get a hold of herself, she was no longer a single woman.

“I met with Gabriel at the mall today.” Addison said to Logan at the table that night at dinner.
“YOU DID WHAT?!” He shouted, banging his hand on the table and standing up.
This was exactly what she had wanted. His anger. She was doing her best to ruin his night as much as he had ruined hers last night.
“He seems cool to me, I don’t know why you told me to stay away from.” She continued, unbothered by his reaction and staying calm.
“Addison, what did you tell him?” Logan said, clenching his jaw as he tried to suppress his anger. He walked across towards her.
Addison stood up, taking her stance. “What am I supposed to tell him that he doesn’t already know?”
She was surprised to see how angry this had made him, she hadn’t expected a reaction this serious. It made her a bit nervous, Logan’s anger wasn’t something she could manage.
He grabbed her chin, holding unto it so tightly that it hurt, his face hardened. “What…did…you…tell…him?” He asked calmly, pulling her closer to him.
For some reason his warmth was making her uncomfortable. There was a lot of s****l tension between them. They looked into each other’s eyes for a while before his lips crashed unto hers, devouring her as she surrendered her body to him.
His hand swiftly reached the back of her night dress, pulling the ropes and causing it to fall to the ground leaving her naked, exposed for his eyes to feast. She grabbed his clothes, helping him take them off.
His hand took a hold of her breasts, tenderly fondling them. Her constant moans urged him to continue as he took them in his mouth, sucking on them, teasing her n*****s with his tongue as she whimpered uncontrollably with pleasure her nails scraped his back as she encouraged him.
He was a horny mess, his body ached for her, all of her. He felt his erection growing harder as she placed her hand on it, it responded immediately to her touch, his breath racing. She stroked it lightly, driving him insane. He couldn’t take it anymore, he slipped his erection into her wetness and she moaned loudly with pleasure.
“Oh, Logan!” She moaned his name, causing him to go deeper. Addison pulled herself closer to him, begging for more.
He drove into her faster, harder as he groaned in response to her raw sounds.
“You are mine,” He grunts out, pumping into her, the length and level of his arousal brutal. 'Mine,' he swears, as she clenches tightly around him causing him to hit climax and release into her.
He quickly rearranges himself and turns towards her, eager to drive her to the climax she deserved. He drove his tongue inside her, setting off another shattering moan that was music to his ears. She was quite an instrument to play, so finely tuned, and if he touched her right, she made the most glorious sounds - raw, intense, absolutely delicious noises of pleasure as he plundered her with his tongue.
She grabbed his hair, yanked and pulled him closer as he’d told her to do. He thrust one finger inside her, crooking it and hitting her in the spot that turned her moans into one long, high-pitched orgasm.
She shuddered against him, her legs quaking, and when he finally slowed to look up at her, he saw her hair was a wild tumble, and her face was glowing.
They took a moment to recover, staring into each other’ eyes with heavy breaths before he swept her into his arms, carrying her upstairs to his bedroom for the next couple of rounds.

Addison woke up feeling spent. Logan was already up and standing by the window and sunlight streamed past his sides unto the bed, creating a silhouette. It looked awfully familiar to Addison.
“You’re up already?” She asked, causing him to turn slightly towards her, revealing a pattern at the left hand corner of his back.
“Finally, the queen is up.” He said with his signature smile.
“Is that a scar?” She asked, stunned.
“This one?” he asked, pointing at it and bringing it to a better view for her to see. “Yeah, I got it a while back from an accident.”
Addison’s eyes widened as she recognized the scissor-shaped scar clearly and slowly remembered where she had seen that silhouette form. Her throat began to hurt.
“H…how many years ago?” she stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper. Her eyes stung as they filled with tears.
“About 4 years ago.” He answered. “Why…?”
“You don’t by any chance know any Mr. Daniel MacQuoid, do you?” Her voice was trembling now, her throat sore. Her heart raced as the scary possibility settled in her mind. It couldn’t be. It was simply impossible.
He squinted in confusion as he considered the question.
“Yes, a few years…” He started and stopped suddenly when he saw the tears welling up in her eyes, his face fell as it dawned on him. ‘MacQuoid’. Addison’s surname.
“N…no.” He whispered with a shaky voice as fear overcame him. His expression instantly changed. “Addison…”
