“What the f**k is going on here?” Ivy greeted, her tone dangerously calm. Addison rolled her eyes, she couldn’t believe she could show up at such a time like this.
The board members were confused, although some of them were already familiar with her. Her father was the Chairman of William’s Group, and a huge investor in the company.
“Who is organizing a wedding without inviting me?” She tilted her head, her eyes sparkling in determination.
“Is this some sort of show?” One of the directors asked.
Logan rushed over to Ivy and pulled her out of the room.
“What the hell are you doing here, Ivy?!” His voice boomed in anger.
“Have you finally gone mad?!”
“YES!” She shouted in return. “I’ve gone mad. You’re marrying that wench after 4 years, Logan. 4 years of sticking beside you, watching you chase every woman in town but keeping silent, being patient with you only to be kicked in the dirt like this.”
“Oh, spare me, Ivy! We were never anything serious and I made that very clear.” Logan said, his face growing red with anger.
“Same way you made your so-called ‘innocent’ relationship with that wretched thing clear.” Ivy retorted.
Addison remained standing anxiously before the board when Logan had left the room with Ivy while everyone heard the sounds of the argument going on outside through the walls. It was getting awkward so she hurriedly excused herself and left the room, joining them outside.
“Is that the reason you decided to show up here in front of the entire board to embarrass me like that?!” Logan raised his voice at Ivy.
“They can hear you inside.” Addison interrupted, causing the both of them to pause for a while.
“Like I give a fuck.” Ivy said, causing Logan to roll his eyes in frustration.
“Addison, tell my driver to take you home.” Logan said to Addison as she grabbed Ivy’s hand, pulling her to a nearby office.
“Ivy, listen to me.” He said the moment they were alone. “It’s quite complicated, you won’t understand.”
“Try me.” She responded, bluntly. Ivy was a daring person, her father had given her the world at her request and would be willing to do more if she asked for it, she had no reason to fear anyone or anything.
“It’s a contract marriage.” Logan said. “It’s only for some months. The board has been on my neck about the ladies and have been threatening my position, I needed to prove them wrong.”
“Are you stupid?!” Ivy shouted. “You let those losers get to you? The only reason this company is still standing is you. The only reason my dad keeps pumping in money here is because of you. Without you this company would be buried and gone, besides it’s YOUR COMPANY for goodness’s sake, grow some balls, Logan!” She grilled him.
It would be quite a stretch to say that Ivy was right. She wasn’t too far from the truth but she didn’t really understand how it worked.
“Just calm down, Ivy. I promise there’s nothing going on between Addison and I.'' Logan said in a sultry tone, leaning towards her and pulling her closer for a kiss. His lips crashed unto hers passionately as he wrapped his hands around her neck.
She found herself melting completely into the kiss, losing sense of everything that just transpired between them. Logan slowly pulled back.
“It doesn’t change anything between us, I want you to know that.” He said, his tone charming and enticing. His hands ran lightly over her skin, causing small shivers to run down her spine in pleasure. She loved this man.
Logan had successfully calmed her down, he knew everything about Ivy, her temperament and how to deal with her. He left the office with Ivy to meet a tall man dressed in a black suit at the door.
“Gabriel, what’re you doing standing there?” Logan asked anxiously, he wondered how much he must have heard.
“I just arrived, i***t. And that's my personal assistant’s office.” Gabriel replied nonchalantly, shoving them aside to pass through.
Gabriel was his cousin. A year older than him. The both of them had been in a rivalry since birth on who would take over the company after Logan’s father would pass away because they both had equal rights to it, given that their grandfather was the founder of Stoneborne Enterprise. And even now that it’d been passed unto Logan, he still felt uneasy around Gabriel.
“And yes, Congratulations…” Gabriel said as he held the door open. “…on your engagement.” He smiled mockingly at Ivy.
Logan sighed in disbelief, he was certain Gabriel was aware that it wasn’t a real marriage, he had two serious problems now. But first, he would have to face the board to fix this mess.

“Where’s the makeup artist?! It’s been an hour already.” Addison shouted to Eva.
“She said that she’s 5 minutes away.” Eva responded.
It was Saturday, her wedding day and she was a mess. The ceremony was in an hour and she hadn’t gotten ready yet, she had gotten up so late.
“5 minutes! The car is already downstairs.” Addison complained.
Immediately the door opened and the artist walked in panting for air. Soon her makeup was done and she headed downstairs and into the car with her bridesmaid, Eva.
“I’m so happy for you, Addy.” Her sister smiled at her and she smiled back.
Addison didn’t know how to feel, she was marrying a billionaire and had no idea what the future held for her and Logan. She was glad she could trust Logan, it would make this extremely easy for her.
She took a deep breath as she got out of the car. She had no idea what it felt like to be married and her heart pounded against her chest as she struggled to process the reality of it. And to make it worse, Logan had suggested a grand wedding, in order to make it more believable and not to arouse any suspicions about their union.
As she walked down the aisle and watched Logan smile at her from the altar, she felt a strong sense of strength and determination, confidence soared through her veins. This marriage would give her all the opportunities she needed to accomplish her one goal. There was no going back now.
Addison, stood at the altar, exchanging vows with Logan as they smiled at each other in front of the entire audience. They exchanged rings and the minister pronounced them husband and wife.
He called for them to share a kiss and Logan leaned towards her. She didn’t know how she felt about this, she had wanted absolutely nothing to do with Logan sexually given all his s****l encounters with multiple women.
But the moment his lips touched hers, all those doubts flew out the window, his lips were soft and incredibly warm, he tasted of mint and she could only long for more. He pulled back, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips, he knew exactly what he had just done and was unapologetic about it
Soon the ceremony was over and the crowd waved the couple as they drove off in their car, headed straight to the mansion. Logan looked at her as she relaxed.
“We’re going home.” He said with a bright smile.

‘Home’ was the Stoneborne’s mansion, and it was breathtaking. The maid opened the large doors and let them in. The interior was magnificent, every corner of it screamed wealth and luxury. Addison was stunned.
She felt herself grow uncomfortable in the midst of all this luxury. She had never been to Logan’s mansion before and had no idea how resplendent it was. She didn’t belong here, she had never felt so out of place before.
“Mr. Stoneborne. Mrs. Stoneborne,” The butler bowed.
Addison’s mouth opened slightly, ‘Mrs. Stoneborne’, no one had called her that yet. It sounded nice indeed.
“It’s nice to finally have you here, ma’am. A maid would show you to your room very shortly.” He gestured towards a maid.
A lady approached Addison, taking her bags from the driver. “I’m Ana. Please, follow me.” She urged forward.
Logan gave her an encouraging smile. Everything was so formal here and Addison wasn’t totally comfortable with it.
They climbed up the stairs and she showed the way to her room. The space was large and equally luxurious, paintings and vintage decors adorned the room with a large king-sized bed at the center. The marble floors and the glamorous ceilings complimented the aesthetic of the room and Addison was overly impressed.
“I’m your personal attendant, let me know of anything you may need. And dinner will be ready by 6, ma’am.” She said as she dismissed herself, leaving Addison alone in her room.
Addison pulled off her dress with her last strength and flopped unto her bed. It'd been a long morning for her, but she had no idea what troubles lay ahead for her…
