She glance at her mentally-confused. “Pardon Lady Walmeir but I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” She muttered in a calming way. “Please explain my side to the crown prince and to your brother as well! You know I am not a bad person.” She answered in a sulky way. ‘She looked like a child whining at her mother. How childish.’ She thought while staring at her. “And why would I do that?” “Because..!” “I have no obligations toward you, Lady Walmeir. I have explained what happened truthfully. I’m sure they already understood your point and my point as well. However, what you are doing now is not just immaturity but also very shameful.” She said gravely as her eyes darkened in annoyance. “Isn’t it obvious that their reactions were based solely on your actions right now? Stop thinking that I talked nonsense to them to gain favor. Honestly speaking, I don’t care because I’m used to cold-shoulders and indifference of people.” She added with a blank expression. The crown prince and the others faces hardened. She noticed it and a smirk formed in her lips. ‘touché’ She thought playfully. Eliza’s face paled and hardened as well. “Don’t include me to your childishness, Lady Walmeir. I expected that you are a lady of knowledge and understanding but it seems that you are lacking. Don’t mess with me again, Lady.” She added wryly. She turned at the crown prince and bowed bidding your goodbye before walking away. However, Eliza held her wrist harshly and pull her making her turn and face her. “You really are an evil woman!” She blurted full of anger and hatred. Before she can lay her hand on her cheek, three men stopped her in time. “M-Milady!” Merriam yelled in worry. Viviene’s eyes widen and she froze in the spot. She just notice how a gentle and kind Eliza turned into a violent and harsh worman. “Don’t touch my master.” Sir Rowellius threatened her. “I, I, its not like that.” She managed to say and let go of her wrist. The part she held tightly reddened and numbed. She touched it gently as she glared at Eliza. Merriam went to her side and glance at her reddened wrist. “M-Milady.” “Lets go.” She dictated and resume walking away from them. Merriam and Sir Rowellius followed her. Cedric approach to her and bowed slightly. “I’ll escort you, Lady Cruel.” He muttered. “Yes.” As they walk in the hallway, the gossips and attention to Viviene became worse than before. She sighed and ignore them. Finally she arrive at the carriage. She turn towards Cedric and bid goodbye nicely. “Have a safe trip, Lady Cruel.” Cedric muttered before closing the carriage’s door. Tge carriage started moving and finally, she can relax. She felt severe headache from what the commotion earlier. Feeling the familiar pain in her chest, she immediately took a handkerchief and covered her mouth. She coughed blood again, unfortunately Merriam and Sir Rowellius were outside the carriage. She lean on the wall and look ahead weakly. “Damn, I think I need to avoid people for a while.” She mumble in annoyance. She check her dress and cursed as she saw little blood on her shirt. She hope that no one will not mind her as she walk inside the mansion. Finally, they arrived at her home. Sir Rowellius open the door and assist her in going out of the carriage. To her surprise, she saw Arthur and Finnian waiting for her. She was about to speak when Arthur went immediately to her and hug her. “I heard what happened.” He muttered in his husky voice. “Huh?” “Don’t ‘huh’ me. I know that Lady Walmeir intrude in the imperial palace and almost hurt you.” He stated while looking straight at her eyes. ‘Wait, did I just hear it right? She called Eliza ‘Lady Walmeir’!?’ She blurted inside her head. “B-Brother, are you okay?” “What?” “You and the crown prince, aren’t you always called Lady Walmeir by her first name?” She asked with a very confused face. Arthur sighed and pat her head. “Its my mistake to feel too comfortable with her. I didn’t know she’s like that.” He said sullenly. ‘Are they repulsing against Lady Walmeir’s charms now? But isn’t it too much to ignore her with a single mistake? Its not a big deal that I was splashed by a tea on my face. I encountered it a hundred times in my work though.’ She recall to herself. “Brother, I know this is not something I need to tell you but, its not really a big deal.” She muttered calmly at him. “What are you talking about? Are you going to ignore what she did? She just stomp your pride as the lady of this manor.” Arthur fumed. ‘He is really angry over such a trifle thing.’ She sighed. “Its not like that but, its just a quarrel between two teenagers. Its just childish act. I better write to the crown prince as well to reconsider His Majesty’s treatment to Lady Walmeir.” She explained with a smile. “No. I will demand an apology from Walmeir household right now. Finnian, note it.” “Yes Young Master.” Finnian obeyed. ‘Isn’t it too much of a fuss!?’ “Wait! I don’t need apology.” She insisted. “No.” Arthur insisted as well. She sighed in disbelief as she held her head. ‘I don’t want arguments!’ She yelled angrily in her head. “Fine. I’m just going to sleep before dinner. Will you join me or not?” She asked. “Unfortunately, no. I have things to do.” He replied. “That’s sad but its alright. I understand you. Make sure you don’t skip dinner brother.” “Yes.” She was about to walk inside when Arthur held her hand. She turn around to face him and saw his face darkened. ‘Wait, did I just say something rude?’ She thought nervously. “Brother?” “Blood.” He pointed at her shirt. Her eyes widen and glance back at him. “T-That’s..” “Finnian, call the doctor.” Arthur ordered and suddenly carried her. She gasp in surprise and look at him with wide eyes. “B-Brother! Please put me down!” “No. I’ll carry you to your room.” Since he will surely not listen to her she just shut her mouth and let him carry her towards her room. Merriam open the door and the two entered. He put her gently on her bed. “Thank you, brother. You’re very kind, may the goddess blessed you a marriage full of love.” “Marriage again?” “You’re old now, you know? Go find a woman that you will love for the rest of your life.” “How rude.” “Hey, its not that I’m rude. Its not a good feeling to be lonely for the rest of your life but I also don’t want a political marriage for you.” She explained with a wide grin. He just stare at her. “I want someone that you can rely with and will love you. I may be a villainess but I also know how to wish happiness for the people around me.” She added. She heard him sigh before he pat her head again. “I am not against marriage but I don’t want to think about it right now. I want to focus on searching for a cure of your illness.” He said genuinely. “Ah, I see. But you know? This illness doesn’t have any cure.” She stated calmly. “Viviene!” “Yes, brother?” She answered with a wide grin and notice his hostility. “Sorry.” She apologized. “But just incase it will be too late, don’t be too hard on yourself.” She added. “Stop saying that. We will definitely find a cure.” He guarantee. ‘Silly, its because I didn’t accept the new fate I have. I will never accept this, so I will surely die due to blood loss.’ She concluded inside her head. She smiled at him and speak in a joking way. “But of course I know that you will discover the cure. You’re a great man anyway, brother. If you don’t mind, can I rest now? I’m quite tired.” She muttered with a withering expression. “Alright. Rest well.” He left and Merriam help her change her clothes before she lay down on the bed. Ironically, she cant sleep and remain staring at the ceiling. She thought about Eliza’s situation. ‘I did turn the tables.’ She thought. For her it’s a little vengeance for what happened to Viviene before. But she doesn’t want Viviene to encounter another headache when she returned in her original body. ‘I have to fix this mess.’ She added and force herself to sleep. The next day she receive unexpected tea party invitations from other famous families. Her face paled at the tons of invitations which Merriam and Finnian were holding. “A-Are you sure its for me?” She inquired in disbelief. “Yes, milady.” Finnian answered. She took the letters and sit on the chair in front of her desk. She started opening the letters and she refuse most of the letters except Marchioness McGregor’s invitation. She’s busy writing responses to the letters when someone knock the door. “Come in.” She heard the door opened followed by footsteps. “Aren’t you should be resting by now?” She turned around and saw Arthur standing behind her. “Hello, brother. Its alright, I can manage. I’m just writing my responses to every households that invited me. I only chose Marchioness McGregor’s invitation.” She answered. “I see. Its nice that you and the Marchioness are close.” “Not really. Its just because her kindness towards me is pure that I want to be good acquaintance to her as well.” “I understand but how about Mr. McGregor? I can see that you two are both close as well.” ‘Is he talking about Timothy?’ She wonder. “Yes. He is my friend.” “A friend and he is calling you by your first name.” Her forehead wrinkled at what he said to her. “Why not? I told you he is a friend. Anyway, I’ll be going to the Marchioness’ manor after luncheon for the tea party. Are you going to eat lunch with me?” She asked. “Yes. Fortunately, I have nothing to do this afternoon.” “I see. You should rest after lunch. I can even tell easily that you’re very tired from all the paperwork on your desk.” “Yes, it is a good idea. I’ll be going now. Make sure to finish it before luncheon.” He stated but more on like an order to her. She roll her eyes secretly and nodded before he leave her room. She continue writing then after that she gave the letters to Finnian to he sent to the senders immediately. “Finnian, please tell Merriam and Sir Rowellius as well to get ready after luncheon. I’ll attend Marchioness McGregor’s tea party.” “Yes, milady.” “Thank you.” Finnian left the room. She went to her closet and chose a dress to wear for the tea party. She decided a dark blue long sleeve dress with white sailor collar and a black ribbon. It had silver vine patterns on the edges of her skirt. She even include a hat that matches the dress well and put it on her bed. “This will do.” She muttered with a satisfied smile. Fortunately, Merriam came in her room. She immediately requested to have a bath before lunch. After bathing, she immediately wore the dress and wore a pair of leaf-shaped silver earrings and her hair was styled into a waterfall braid. She always love braid for her long ginger hair. She applied her signature red lipstick and made a promise to herself that she will not ruin the tea party’s mood. “You look beautiful Miss.” “Thank you. Please change immediately. I’ll be fine on my own.” “Yes, milady.” Merriam left the room. She stood up and went to the her secret room and took the magical ring then went out from there wearing it around her finger. Her lunch with Arthur went well and now its time for her departure. She went outside the mansion and met Sir Rowellius who was smiling at her. She smiled back and went inside the carriage. Merriam went inside as well and close the door before the carriage started moving. “Miss, are you really alright now? You just coughed blood yesterday. Wouldn’t it be best for you to rest in your room?” She asked at the lady in front of her. “I am fine, Merriam. There’s no need for you to worry.” She beamed. “If there’s anything you want please tell me right away, Milady.” “Of course.” She responded cheerfully. They have finally arrived at the Marchioness’ house. She went out from the carriage and walk towards the mansion. The butler greeted her and escorted her to the garden. The Marchioness’ acquaintances were already in there including the marchioness. “Marchioness.” Viviene called. The marchioness glance at her. “Oh, Lady Cruel.” “Thank you for inviting me. I am very grateful.” “Yes, come take a sit and join us. You just arrived in time.” She smiled and went to the vacant seat and sit on it. She face the ladies with her and gave them a gentle smile. The ladies seemed caught-off guard and smiled back as well yet she can feel the awkwardness between them. She notice Merriam and Timothy talking together and that even made her smile become wider. Actually, that is also the reason why she chose the marchioness’ invitation. She thought that Merriam and Timothy seldom see each other due to her affairs. Of course she doesn’t forget her mission about the two! So she needs to do her best to make them fall in love with each other and give them a happy ending. “You seemed in a very good mood, Lady Cruel.” Lady Lasula, a girl with brunette curly hair said as she notice her bright smile. “Yes. I was happy to be here.” She answered. “I heard about your condition, Lady Cruel. Are you alright now?” Lady Prima asked but she couldn’t sense any concern in her words. She just brought it up to make a topic between them. “Yes, I am alright now, Lady Prima.” She replied. “I also heard about you and Lady Walmeir. Is it true that she tried to assault you in the imperial palace?” Lady Ivory jnquired. ‘Assault?’ she muttered inwardly with a slight confusion. ‘How can it be an assault when she only tried to stop me from walking away?’ She added. “I never knew that Lady Walmeir is a bad lady. Honestly, she deserves to it.” Lady Ivory added. She cant say a word about it. If she took Eliza’s side then people would talk that she trust her too much and she’s too soft for her so she just ignore it. “What do you think, Lady Cruel? Is it alright for you to let her be?” Lady Araveine asked. Everyone’s waiting for her reply. “I am fine. I think, she was already punished for what she did.” She answered. She was freed from a lot of questions when the marchioness change the topic. The tea party went well and thankfully, nothing bad happened. She arrived at the mansion and went straight to her room. The butler with a servant went to her room to give her something important. “What is it?” she asked. “A gift has arrived for you, milady.” He hand her a black medium sized velvet box. She slowly opened it and saw a heart shaped blue diamond with silver. “also this letter, milady.” She took the letter and read it. The letter goes as this: ‘Take care of my heart. -M.U.V.’ As soon as she read with her eyes the initials M.U.V. she dismissed Finnian and the servant. She glance at her ring and whisper the location. She just cant take his heart so she need to return this no matter what.
