She walk silently at the hallway towards the crown prince’s palace. The servants whom she met in the way would bow down and after passing through them, they would start gossiping and staring at her back. She felt uncomfortable thanks to them. “Are you alright Miss?” Merriam whispered behind her. “Yes, I’m alright.” She answered with a force smile. Cedric Paris, the aide of the crown prince Aleiandro fetched them the moment they arrived. He is a very attentive man with black hair and blue eyes. He glance at Viviene and notice her being uncomfortable. “Are you tired, Milady?” He knew her physical condition since he always report the things in connection with Viviene to the crown prince. The palace is not too far from the main palace but he’s worried she might faint because of her weak state. He never thought that the villainess of the society could be this, so sick. “No. I’m fine, Sir Cedric.” She said with a smile. “If its alright, can I ask you a question?” She asked. “Of course, Milady. What is it?” “Why are there no guards in the crown prince’s castle?” She roam her eyes around the place and she cant see a single guard around the area. “Its because everyone was too afraid of His Majesty. Death will surely fall to those who wished him harm.” He answered in a very delighted tone. ‘Is he a fan of the crown prince?’ She thought while seeing the an imaginary word ‘number one fan’ above his head. She’s so silly, of course no one would dare to attack the crown prince. ‘He is a very scary demon who brought death to his enemies.’ She added as she felt herself trembling to the sudden chill. “His Majesty is a strong man since he was a child. Even without a sword he can take down three knights easily.” “I-I see.” Viviene muttered nodding at his remarks. Finally, they arrive at the castle. Its two times bigger than the their mansion and wherever her eyes fell, even to the corners or the nooks, it shouts grandeur. ‘As expected by the crown prince.’ She said inwardly. They arrived at the garden and she saw a table with tea sets and desserts. In there were two people already sitting comfortably, it’s the crown prince and Eliza. “Oh, hello Lady Cruel.” Eliza greeted with a smile. She force a smile at her. “You’re here.” The crown prince muttered as he glance at him. “Greetings for the future sun of the empire.” She greeted while bowing as a respect. “Take a sit.” “Thank you, Your Majesty.” She took the sit facing Eliza. “Thank you for inviting me here, Your Majesty.” She added. The crown prince nodded at her simple yet genuine gratitude. “How have you been, Miss Cruel?” Eliza asked her worriedly. “I am fine so you don’t need to worry, Lady Walmeir.” She answered briefly as she sips her tea. “I’m glad.” She smiled at her as she sips her tea. “I heard from Young Duke Arthur that you’re engaging yourself into reading.” She added and put the teacup on the plate. “Books? That’s a very interesting side of you, Lady Cruel.” The prince said in disbelief. “Not at all, Your Majesty. Its not a very interesting fact at all in fact, everyone’s doing it too.” She muttered in a bored expression. “If you don’t mind, what hobbies do you like, Your Majesty?” She asked while smiling. “My hobby?” “Yes.” “There’s nothing that I do much since I’m always busy but, if I have time I played chess with Cedric.” He answered lifelessly. “Sir Cedric? Sir Cedric play chess?” Eliza asked. “He’s not a stupid enemy in that game but I always end up winning.” Viviene did not really believe him at all. What if Cedric just let him win to keep his life? That’s what she thought as she drink her tea calmly. “I played chess too.” Eliza muttered happily at him. ‘Oh. That is an unexpected thing to know.’ She thought in sarcasm. She took a macaroon on her plate and ate it while looking at them. “How about you, Miss Cruel? Do you play chess?” She swallowed the food before speaking to her. “I don’t play chess.” She lied. Viviene played chess but she doesn’t know if she’s good at it because she played that game all by herself. ‘I thought Viviene’s crazy at that time but maybe because no one wants to play that game with her. Poor Viviene.’ She spoke sadly to herself. “Are you interested in playing that game? We can play it here together.” Eliza offered with her usual bright smile. Her white teeth were showing, even her dimples. “No thanks. I’m not interested in that game.” She answered politely and drink her tea again. ‘If the real Viviene would be here and she’s still that lonely little girl, she would be very delighted. I wonder why she learned that boring game in the first place?’ She wondered. Unlike the adult Viviene who always waste her time playing outdoors and buying things useless or not, Viviene as a child was quiet and always stuck in her room. One time she learned that Arthur likes mind games especially chess, she started learning it hoping that she will be closed to him. Unfortunately, Arthur didn’t like her at all and thought of her as annoyance. She cried so much back then. After that, she never engaged herself in everything but spending money. ‘In the end, its because of that jerk. Lets not play that game in respect of Viviene’s feelings.’ She thought. “Lady Cruel?” Eliza called while staring at her. “Yes?” She answered awkwardly. “I was asking if you’re alright. You’re spacing out for a long time.” “Oh. Sorry. I, I was just thinking what book genre do you like the most?” She asked to avoid questions about her. “Oh! I like romantic novels.” “I see.” “Do you like romantic novels too?” She asked while her eyes sparkled in curiosity. She force a smile and answered her indirectly. “Who wouldn’t like romantic novels? They’re interesting too.” She sips her tea and smiled at her. She’s glad she didn’t ask too much question about her. “Is there any genres that you like aside from romance?” The prince suddenly asked. She glance at him and think for a while before answering. “Fantasy, especially the ones wherein the main character went to a mysterious world.” ‘very similar to mine.’ She added. “Different worlds, that’s very unrealistic.” The crown prince muttered as he lean on the chair. Viviene’s words tickled her ears then she glance at her. “Your Majesty, books are books. Its just a product of the author’s imagination. I’m quite astonished that you like an idea like that, Lady Cruel.” Did she just laughed at her face? She smiled at her as well and lean on her chair facing her. “Perhaps its absurdity. You can think of it as that, Lady Walmeir, Your Majesty.” She said as her eyes radiate a weird light. “Who knows.” She added and shrug as she sips her tea. Her expression made them curious of what she thinks but she doesn’t want to tell anything to them. They wouldn’t understand anything if they’re that close-minded. “You seemed quite different, Miss Cruel.” The prince suddenly muttered as his face become serious. “Different? I don’t think so, Your Majesty. I’m just like any other women.” “What do you think of that Idea, Lady Cruel?” Eliza asked very curious of what she’s thinking. “A bunch of trashes, Miss Walmeir. There’s nothing special about my thoughts at all.” She sense the prince’s annoyance beside her. She glance at him and saw his scary dark aura ruining the bright of day. With a force smile, she speak again. “But of course, I can tell you!” She laugh awkwardly. She sigh and lean on the chair. “I don’t know His Majesty and Lady Walmeir wants to hear my ridiculous thoughts. Unlike from anyone here, I believe that there’s another world other than this one.” She took her teacup but stop in the middle to add another phrase. “Everything is possible, and the existence of one isn’t the nothingness of another.” The wind blow gently to them lifting and messing their hairs. “It’s a very ridiculous idea. Please don’t take it seriously.” She joke while laughing. Eliza laugh as well. “Hearing you, Lady Cruel, it seems the idea wasn’t that ridiculous at all. Its more on like..” “Intriguing.” The crown prince finish her words and that made Viviene glance at him. She only smiled in return of his word then drink her tea. Her eyes fell to the lake. She felt a sudden déjà vu rush inside her. Her smile remain but her eyes were not. The prince notice her and trace her gaze and saw the lake. ‘Is that the reason why she’s spacing out?’ He thought. “Lady Cruel, if the view makes you uncomfortable we can transfer right away.” He said. Viviene glance at him. “No. Thank you for your consideration, Your Majesty but I’m alright. We can continue our tea here.” She muttered while smiling. ‘That lake is the Faszia Lake. That’s the place where the real Viviene drowned.’ She thought. Their conversation went well and not long after, Viviene excused herself and told the prince that she need to go home now. She also said that she cant stay in the crown prince’s palace politely. “Very well. I hope you get better soon.” The prince muttered. “Yes. Thank you, Your Majesty” She smiled as she excuse herself from the table. She bow down and started to walk away. Merriam and Sir Rowellius followed her silently. They were both present in the tea party and they were standing not far from them including Sir Valor. Both of them were astonished at the same time delighted by their conversation. Merriam and Sir Rowellius were so proud at the young miss’s for making the tea party nor boring at all. “Lets stop at the capital.” “At the capital? Do you want to buy something, Miss?” Merriam asked politely. “No. But I want to look around. Its been a while since I went out from the mansion.” She explained. They rode the carriage and stop at the capital. Viviene look around and saw many good things to buy but she’s not that rash to spend money over useless shiny things. While walking on the streets, someone grab her ankle that made her so shock. She gasp and look down in fright. She saw an old beggar, his long white hair touched the pavement and his hands were trembling. “young miss!” Sir Rowellius called and was about to pull away the beggar when Viviene stopped him. She held his hand and help him lean on the wall. “Merriam, go buy some bread and milk for this man.” “Yes, Miss!” Merriam left in a hurry. The old man raise his head and met her amber eyes. Instead of kind eyes, he saw indifference. “Sir, do you think that by touching my ankle and showing me your pitiful look can make me sympathize and show kindness to you? I could have let my knight cut your hand or beat you.” She muttered. “But, aren’t the young lady kind? You help me instead of cutting my hand or letting your knight to beat me.” He answered. “Perhaps I’m kind to you today but my kindness will not last forever. Be careful of whom you ask for help next time.” She smiled at her as she pat his hand. Without noticing, the man’s black eyes shone bright red then vanished right away. Merriam arrived with the bread and milk. She gave it to the old man who’s facing Viviene. Viviene stood up and look at him. “I hope that the goddess will help you with her helping hand. Goodbye, stranger.” She muttered and turn her back from him. “Young Lady!” The old man called her. Viviene stopped and glance at him with confusion. “We meet again.” He muttered as he smiled at him. Her eyes widen when she notice that his eyes become red then back to black. She blink and stared at him again. ‘Is there, something wrong with my eyes?” She wondered as she stare at his eyes. In a blink of an eye, the old man who’s frail turned into a handsome man with gray hair and red eyes. She’s very startled that she’s unable to move. The man held her cheek and mutter the words unexpectedly. “Be my queen.” “What!? Are you insane!?” She asked in disbelief. Sir Rowellius attacked him which was evade by him easily. “I’ll come back, Viviene. And when I come back you should’ve—” “Oh shut it! Who would want an evil queen?” A smile form his lips. “Me?” Her mouth is gaping open as she look at him in disbelief. ‘Crazy! Crazy! Crazy!’ She exclaim in her head while staring at him. “Goodbye.” He greeted before he vanish in front of them. Her heart felt like its about to explode. She cant hear anything at the moment but only her heart. ‘Just what did I do this time to gain almost a heart attack!?’ She wonder. “I’m so unlucky..” She mumble in dispair.
