I will make sure he will receive this gift from you.” She replied cheerfully. Viviene only nodded and they went out from her room and headed downstairs. She arrived at the garden first and took a sit on the chair facing a vacant one. The scent of roses filled the air and made her feel comfortable. A servant put tea on her teacup and she gladly took a sip of it. A few minutes later, the person whom she waited finally arrived. She smiled at him brightly. “Hello, brother. Please take a sit.” Her smiling image made him smile as well and walk towards the empty seat and took a sit facing her. She’s still smiling at him. A servant pour tea on his teacup then she started to talk to him. “How’s work?” “Its fine. How about yours?” He asked at her and drink his tea. “Not that good.” He’s face displayed a confused look and put his teacup on the plate. “Why?” “I met unexpected people. Anyway, its green tea and its good in reducing bad cholesterol and has a calming and relaxing effect.” “I see. It has a nice scent and taste.” She felt contented at his response to her and sips her tea. She glance at the box on her lap and look at Arthur. She felt nervous when she was caught by his blue eyes. She smiled awkwardly as she swallowed her screams. “I, I have something for your brother.” “For me?” He repeated. “Yes. I hope you like it.” She hopefully muttered as she push gently the box toward him. He glance at the box and open it. The brooch with blue gem met his blue eyes and at first glance, he felt his heart filled with joy. He just saw that the magical item considered him as its owner. ‘This is a magical item with protection spell.’ He thought as he examine the brooch. ‘This is a very good gift I received so far.’ He added. He glance at her with a smile and gentle eyes. “Thank you, I like it.” He spoke with joy. Viviene’s eyes trembled and a smile formed her lips. “I’m so glad you like my gift.” She felt her heart jump of happiness and her eyes become teary. ‘Gosh! Why am I so emotional today!? This is not me so Faye Anne? Stop it now!’ She scolded to herself. But aside from the happiness she had, there’s another feeling that keeps on stabbing in her chest. Its not a pleasant feeling at all and she felt like she needs to tell Arthur about what happened in the capital before he heard it from someone else. “Brother, there’s something I need to tell you.” She pulled all her courage as she look at his blue eyes. Arthur expression become serious while staring at her. “What is it?” He asked. “I met Lady Walmeir and Sir Valor in the capital.” “And?” She felt like she’s a ten year old child who commit something bad and confessing to her father. “I’ve told them mean things.” She said truthfully. “And?” “That’s it.” “That’s it?” “Aren’t you going to scold me like before?” “What?” His reaction made Viviene muddleheaded. She expected a lot of insult and unfairness in their little tea party that’s why she tried to lessen his anger by the brooch. She tilted her head as she open her mouth. “Its always what you do when I did bad things so I thought that you will scold me for acying stupid outside my room.” Arthur’s lips press tightly as his gaze turned cold. All she said was true. All he did was scold her and not even listening to her own side of the story. He felt bad for it but he cant turn back time. He sighed and look back at her again. “I’m not going to scold you neither asking you further about what really happened. I decided to not side anyone.” He explained as he sip his tea again. “Not siding? Oh. Alright.” She responded feeling relief and not contented of his choice. ‘Well, I cant really do anything about that.’ She thought and drink her tea again. Their tea time ended and its time for Arthur to go back to his work. He left first followed by Viviene. She went to her room first with Merriam. “Miss, Sir Rowellius was very thankful of your gift.” Merriam muttered with a bright expression. Viviene smiled at her. “Alright, Merriam, you should wear that brooch always, alright?” “Yes, milady.” She answered. “Good. I’ll be seeing father. I hope he’s not that busy.” She muttered. She left her room and walk towards the duke’s office with the box. She felt nervous but she knew its normal. ‘Its Viviene’s first time giving a present to her father. And I’m doing this instead of her.’ She remarked to herself as she tried to calm her nervous system. She stopped in front of the door of the duke’s office. “Okay. This is it.” She whispered and took a deep breath before knocking the door. “Who is it?” “Its me, father” She said behind the wooden door. “Come in.” She open the door and saw her father sitting behind his desk with all the papers piled in front of him. ‘That’s a lot of work.’ She scanned his table and felt a sudden guilt of visiting him when its clear that he needs to focus on work. She look at his father awkwardly. “I’m sorry for bothering you, father.” She apologize genuinely at him. “No, its alright. Take a sit child.” She took a sit on the sofa while the servant brought tea for them. “How is the capital?” The duke inquired. “Its fine, father. I had a good time.” She decided to lie to him fearing that it might bother his work especially when he’s leaving tomorrow. “That’s good to hear.” “How are you father? I can see that you have a lot of work to do. I hope you still have time to rest before your journey to Northelle.” She remarked sipping her tea. “Yes. I always make sure to have some time to rest before my departure howevee, I’m still worried about you, child.” She remain her smiling and calm demeanor in front of her but deep inside there’s something strange in her chest. ‘He said that he’s worried so easily for all the years Viviene lived all alone.’ She muttered to herself like a hammer hitting her head. “Don’t worry father. I wont fall down easily.” “I trust your words.” She took a deep breath again before speaking. “I have something for you father.” “For me?” He repeated with confusion in his face. “Yes. Actually, I went to the capital to buy this for you. I really hope you like it, dad.” She said with a hopeful tone and handed the box. His eyes shook as he opened it. It’s a brooch with blue gem and instead of the silver vines as bolder surrounding the gem, it’s a golden one. She changed it because her father and brother cant have the same brooch pinned on their chests. “It has protective spell. Its not that I don’t trust father’s strength, I just don’t want you to get hurt in the North while dealing with the enemies.” “C-Child..” He called and his voice broke for a while. He fake a cough to fix his voice and called her again. “Child, you don’t have to do this.” He suggested. “But I want to. You don’t like it father?” He asked looking at his father confused. “Please be safe and return immediately, father, I’ll be going now.” She stated not even feeling a slight concern to the soon to be victim of her having another a spot where I need to die. “Wait, child.” She stopped and glance at the duke. “Thank you.” Her eyes slightly widen and she smiled so brightly at him. The next day, the duke left to the Northelle but Viviene felt a little fine now. He just saw that her father wore the brooch and she can feel his trust on her. ‘Be safe, father.’ She prayed silently while staring at the window of her room.
