I had an ulcer. It wasn’t that bad anyway. It was not like I would die from it if I didn’t eat. Those were the convictions that kept me through the day.
I was finally out of the hospital, ma’am jasmine drove me home that very day. As my memories tried fading away, that scenery captured in my brain-box.
“You’ve got to find a job.” Ma’am jasmine said after we were all settled. With her round fat face, she looked all serious.
Was I finding a job the matter?
I cared less,“ Am I bothering you?” I retorted back. No doubt I could be rude at times, only Lu would have understood me better. She was the only one who knew when I was much sadder and when I was in a very cheerful mood.
As I smuggled the omelet she made into my mouth, ma’am jasmine glared right into my eyes.“what!” I exclaimed loudly and she stood up and walked out of me. As she was about to leave, I stopped her with my words.
“okay. I’ll work.”
I graduated from law school with second class upper having a little grade honor which not all firms appreciated. I was bright anyway, I loved the law and found it the right way to judge the wrong and it was very difficult to Wilde it in my favor.
Jasmine suddenly ran into the parlor and turned the tv on. It nuzzled at waking and after a while, its noise subsided into meaningful words.
“Mr. Atrocious, do you know I find your name funny?” The female interviewer laughed on the screen. The man to who she was referring blushed a little as his smile walked across his face.
“So where are you planning to work?” Ma’am jasmine walked back to me, with her eye opened wide.“mmm.”
“Can you guys keep it down there?” Jasmine quarried and turned back to the tv.
“I mean, your charming, and your looks drive all your fans crazy. Why then did you go with the same Atrocious.’” The man smiles and bent his head down as his legs crossed over each other.
“I don’t know I just like the name.”
“Ohh. Do you know what it means?”
“Someone frightening, bad, full of horror.” He said as he widen his hands to portray flaws.
“How can one person be this handsome like ten people altogether.” Jasmine blushes as she tried suffocating the pillow she had in her hands.
“Aish...Really.” Ma’am jasmine scoffed and walked out.
Later in the day, I wanted to walk out. Just to feel what the world has been hiding from me through the past weeks. I had missed the fresh taste of a cup of hot americano.
With my eyes fixed on the sky, I spent my hands out.
“Ahh” This was the fresh breeze of the northern hemisphere. I felt free from my solitary confinement for the past days, from the bed to being plugged into a machine.
Only if Lu never died.
I walked into the cafe and advanced over to an empty spot. It was beside the transparent glass, my FAVOURITE spot. It gave the best scenery. The sun attacks hit through the sky. As my eye walked out of the cafe with the hot americano I ordered earlier, that guy that always rode on his board ran across as usual. As he rode, he strikes the lady’s coffee on her white thick shirt.
Ouch!
That was the sound, she curses back and stares at her dress. This scene always kept my day back to those days, Lu was alive.
The door opened abruptly, my eyes drifts in its direction. He barges in and his fans behind the door. His breath inhales and exhales. With his milkshake written over his black hoodies, he smiles.
“Mr. Atrocious.” was what my mouth said.
