“Am so sorry” I pleaded immediately after spitting the tea on his face. He was in shock and pain no doubt, but he didn’t care anymore.
The deed had been done already.
I walked him into our home and tried to wipe his face properly. He frowned at first but later became satisfied with my assistance.
“Ohh, officer Jeff. What’s wrong with your face?” Ma’am lee exclaimed with her lips pouted forward.
“Um, it’s nothing.” He said and collected the cloth I use to wipe his clothes. Ma’am lee stared at me and back at him.
“Your early.” She just said and I was curious as to why they were to meet in the first place.
“His early.¿” I have that ’what do you mean look’
“Sorry, I didn’t tell you. Jeff here has an offer for you at one office of his.” She said placing her hands behind the chairing officer Jeff and he just shakes a little.
“Okay..?” I said in a way that I wasn’t still understanding the whole situation.
“So, Jeff. What do you have for Alex?” She asked twisting her neck and giving him that sin of ‘go for it. He stood up immediately with a folder in his hand which I didn’t notice earlier.
“Okay, here. I have three firms in which you would fit properly.” He signed and brought out some papers.“Here, Take this. I’ll meet you at this cafe after your interviews.” He assured me and dropped all the required details for me on the table. He pack his stuff up and walked out.
The first firm had that bad color and qualifications which I didn’t too appreciate.
“Why did you choose this firm?” The man that was interviewing me asked.
“Truth to be told. I didn’t and secondly, your firm sucks.” I blurted it out and they had nothing to say further.
Over to the next interview.
“What are you aspiring to do in our firm.?”
“Emm,” that question there, I don’t have an answer to that now. “Sorry, can we skip that to the next?” I pleaded and they looked at each other.
The last interview.
“ According to the law code. What do you have to say about attempting murder.” He questioned with his hands on his glasses.
I on the other hand smiled broadly as I was well aware of the answer to his question.
“Section 320 of the Criminal Code, defines Attempt to Murder as follows:
"Any person who: (a.) Attempts unlawfully to kill another; or (b) With intent unlawfully to kill another, does any act, or omits to do any act which it is his duty to do, such act or omission being of such a nature as to be likely to endanger human life." I spoke like I was with a textbook or something, while the man who interviewed me nodded his head with acknowledgment.
That was how my day went with my interviews and I decided to hang over at the cafe where Jeff wanted to meet up. I waved my hand across the sky as I spotted Jeff. He smiled with two coffee cups in his hands.
“You always early,” I suggested and he smiled while I collected one coffee.
“So, how were the interviews?” He drew his brawls in my direction and I just smirked. With the cool breeze on set making noise, I just admitted to it being *okay*.
He smiled with his head bent low when I interrupted him. “Are you here with your vehicle?”
“Umm, yes. Why?”
“I need to be somewhere.” I hastened my feet as I pulled him along. He had this grumpy look that made him look more than a man in his forties. His belly swayed not too low from its spot as gray hairs drew down his beards.
He pulled his car to a stop. It was right in front of Mr. Atrocious's gate. “Why are we here?” Jeff asked with a grim on his face and I ignored hailing down.
“It’s atrocious place.” I made mention of the owner's name and he hailed down with me.
He pulled my hands and wanted me back in the car, but I wasn't interested at this very moment.
“What's wrong?” I quarried when my hand strikes the door.
Jeff looked me in the eye helpless to say something but it was becoming more difficult to answer my question. I turned from his eye and striked the spacious gate.
“He's your mother's killer. He’s Lu assassin.”
