When eighteen-year-old Seraphina enters the prestigious Academy of Lux Tenebrae, she longs for one thing—to live as an ordinary student. But beneath her skin lie two ancient relics of unimaginable power, and a secret capable of plunging the magical world into ruin.

As hidden enemies close in, forbidden feelings ignite between Seraphina and the academy's cold, enigmatic master, Lucien Veritas, a man sworn to protect her even if it costs him everything. Surrounded by loyal friends, powerful rivals, and a kingdom built on lies, Seraphina must uncover the truth about her bloodline before the darkness consuming the realm claims her soul.

When the truth is finally revealed, she faces an impossible choice: embrace the monster she was born to become... or rise as the goddess destined to save them all.

Lux Tenebrae is an epic fantasy romance filled with magical academies, forbidden love, royal intrigue, elemental powers, heartbreaking sacrifice, and an unforgettable battle between light and darkness.

PART I: SHADOWS OF THE ACADEMY
Chapter 1: The Threshold of Lux Tenebrae & The Hidden Gems The Gothic spires of Lux Tenebrae pierced the perpetual twilight of the northern moors like obsidian shards. Inside its monolithic walls, the air hummed with the oppressive weight of centuries-old enchantments. Seraphina stood before the towering stained-glass windows of the grand library, her fingers resting lightly against her left hip. Beneath the skin of her palms lay an agonizing secret: the Cristallum Aquae and the Cristallum Ignis, twin relics of absolute power fused directly into her dermis, pulsing with a rhythm that mirrored her heartbeat. To the rest of the student body, she was merely an unawakened girl striving to master the basic components of somatic wand work. She had pleaded with her mother, the Queen, to allow her to blend into the academy, to wield a simple ash wand and chant standard incantations like “Sphaera Luminis!” to conjure light, hiding her true nature. “You’re overthinking the alignment again,” a voice murmured from the shadows of the alcove. Raymond stepped forward, a heavy leather-bound grimoire cradled in one arm. His analytical grey eyes scanned her intently. “Your magical signatures fluctuate violently whenever you attempt a standard channeling spell, Seraphina. It’s as if your core is actively rejecting the wand's dampening field.” “It's just a lack of early childhood training, Raymond,” she replied smoothly, masking the sudden spike of panic that sent a jolt of heat through her right palm. “Perhaps,” Raymond muttered, his brow furrowing as he noticed a faint, dual-colored refraction of light beneath her skin. “But mathematics and arcane geometry do not lie. There is an anomaly within your kinetic output.” Before he could press further, Mira Solene burst into the aisle, her laughter cutting through the stifling atmosphere. “Leave her be, Raymond! Not everyone views the cosmos through formulas.” Mira linked her arm with Seraphina’s, providing a welcome shield. “The grand ballroom is nearly dressed, and we have gowns to prepare.” Seraphina offered Raymond a polite, fleeting smile before allowing Mira to pull her away, acutely aware of the lingering intensity of his gaze.
