THE TRUE ALPHA

CHAPTER 1: UNEXPECTED

Luna awoke with a start , her heart pounding in her chest , she had just had the same nightmare she always had the one where she saw her parents being killed by the hunters .she took a deep breath and wiped the sweat from her brows .it was just a dream, she told herself. But the memories of that night were still fresh in her mind . she was just a child when it happened , but the pain of losing her parents were still as sharp as ever . Now , she was 18 years old , and she was about to start her first day at Bingham city high . She had never been to a normal school before , and she wasn't sure what to expect. As she got dressed , she tried to put the nightmare out of her mind. But she couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen. She tried to push the thought away as she walked out the door , her aunt called out to her "Luna, " she said " you are special.You are werewolf , but you're also a person , and you deserve to have a normal life . Don't let what happened in the past define you . just be yourself, and everything will be fine ." With those words of encouragement , she left the house and headed to school.

It's her first day of school and she's feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. As she walks into the school, she notices that everyone is staring at her. She tries to keep her head down and avoid eye contact, but she can feel their eyes on her . She starts to feel self conscious and nervous. But then , she spots a familiar face in the crowd. it's Henry , the boy she had seen in her dream , she was surprised and she tries to avoid him, but he sees her and approaches her . " Hi " he says , " Are you new here ?" " yeah , I'm new here , " she replied to sound as normal as possible. "I'm Luna ." " Nice to meet you , Luna " Henry said with a smile. "I'm Henry. so , what brings you to Bingham city? " she hestaited, not sure how much to reveal . But then she thought about her aunt's words , and she decided to be honest. "My aunt and I just moved here , " she said . " We wanted a fresh start ." that's great Henry said ."A new place . Can be a great way to start over I hope you like it here ", " so what classes are you taking? Henry asked " I'm in English, history, math , and science." she replied. " me too !" Henry said , we might even have some of the same classes . That would be cool ,right ? Luna nodded , but inside she felt a bit overwhelmed. she was use to being homeschooled , and the thought of being n a classroom dull of strangers was a bit daunting . But she tried to put on a brave face "yeah, that would be cool ," she said. " listen, it was good meeting you , but I've got to run to class ," she said , trying to make a quick escape. " it was nice meeting you," Henry said " I'll see you around, okay? " " yeah sure ," she replied , and with that , she headed to her first class. As she walked down the hall , she felt a mix of emotions , she was nervous and scared, but also a lit but hopeful. Maybe this would be the start of a new chapter in her life .

That evening, as Henry was doing his homework he found himself thinking about Luna . He'd never met anyone like her before, she was quiet and a bit mysterious, but there was something about her that intrigued him. He couldn't get her out his mind . Meanwhile, Luna was in her room trying to avoid any contact with her aunt.she knew she would be angry if she found out she had talked to a human , but she couldn't help but feel drawn to Henry . it was a strange feeling, and she wasn't sure what to make of it .

As Luna lay in her bed that night , her thoughts kept returning to Henry . she tried to reason with herself, to remind herself of everything she had been taught. But deep down, she couldn't deny that she felt drawn to him , maybe it was just the novelty of talking to someone new , or maybe there was something more . She tossed and turned , unable to sleep, as she tried to make sense of her feelings . Meanwhile back at Henry's home , he drifted off into a restless sleep , full of strange dreams when he awoke the next morning. he felt groggy and out of sorts . He got ready for school and headed off , still wondering about the new girl .When he got to school he was surprised to see her sitting at the table in the cafeteria , looking lost and alone . Should he approach her , or should play it safe and ignore her.? He decided to do the next first thing that comes to his mind.

He walked over to her table and down across from her . "Hey" he said , "we met the other day , I'm sorry if I came on too strong. I just wanted to say hi and see how you're doing ." she looked up at him recognition in her eyes . " Hi" she said " it's nice to see you again too." she hesitated for a moment. " I hope I didn't come on too strong the other day," Henry said feeling a bit nervous."I was trying to be friendly." Luna relaxed a bit and gave him a small smile." it's okay " she said

" I appreciate that you're trying to be nice .I'm still getting used to being here." Henry nodded." Well, if you ever need anything, or just want to talk , I'm here, you can consider me a friend" He said. " Thanks" Luna said , and Henry felt like he was making progress, so they both sat at the table, having a nice conversation. Luna is started to feel more comfortable with Henry and she's opening up a bit." so what brought you to this school?" Henry asked " my aunt brought me here," ok Luna said. "she thought it would be good for me to start over in a new place ." Henry was intrigued. "what happened?" he asked gently. Luna took a deep breath." it's kind of a long story." she said . " The short version is that my parents died ," Luna said choosing her words carefully." And my aunt thought it would be best for me to come here and start over ." Henry's eyes widened." oh , I'm so sorry." he said not sure what else to say, " thank you " Luna said." it's been hard , but I'm trying to move forward." Henry nodded " that's really brave of you ." he said" I admire your strength." Luna blushed , a bit surprised by his words . " Thanks " she said feeling a bit shy " so how long have you been here ," Henry asked " just a few weeks," Luna said. " I'm still getting to use to the place." Henry nodded" well , I hope you're settling in okay," he said . "And if you need any help, you can always come to me .
