The smell of blood mixed with rain hung thick in the air.
My chest felt heavy as I ran, each step dragging, until a flash of lightning aimed as though to strike me.
Just then, I jolted awake, my heart thudded so hard it felt like it might burst, realising it was just a dream.
The movement must have startled the others, because I noticed all four of them leaning in, worried eyes fixed on me.
Outside, it rained relentlessly, drumming against the windows like it knew my panic.
Why was it raining for real?
