SIX HOURS LATER
“Alright, gather around, students. Girls on this side, boys on that side.”
The PE teacher’s voice boomed through the field, and reluctantly we shuffled into place.
“As you all know, today is the second official day of the school trip,” he continued, standing tall on the podium, megaphone in hand.
“And what’s more fun than some outdoor activities?”
We stood under the open sky, the sun already too loud for my liking.
Low murmurs spread through the crowd, complaints, groans, quiet protests.
Because we all knew one thing.
Outdoor activities were just stress disguised as fun.
“That’s enough,” he said, cutting us off.
“The board of teachers has decided..” he paused dramatically, then grinned. “We’re going camping tonight!”
