I woke up to the sound of slow, heavy breathing….and the weight of warm, solid arms wrapped around me.
For a second, I stayed still.
My lashes fluttered as I rubbed my eyes, trying to piece together where I was.
Then last night rushed back all at once.
The mattress, the closeness, the way sleep had claimed me before I could stop it.
I flinched at the memory, and the small movement was enough to wake the other pair of sleepy eyes beside me.
“Hey,” Fredrick murmured, his voice rough with sleep.
“H… hi,” I replied softly, shifting slightly…only for Landon’s arm to drape over me, heavy and possessive in a way that made my chest tighten.
“You okay?” Caspian asked, gently brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
“Yeah,” I said, pressing my lips together.
