Sirens. Bright lights. Rushed voices asking me if I’m okay. If I can hear them as they shine a light into my eyes. “Everything is going to be okay,” they tell me. I can’t move my head. There’s a brace around my neck holding me in place. I’m on a gurney. I strain my eyes to look to my sides and all I can see is a fireman walking towards the direction I just came from. I’m trying to speak but nothing is coming out. “M-m-Michael?” Is all that manages to break through. “He’s going to the same hospital as you sweetie, don’t worry, just focus on yourself right now, okay?” A woman says above me. I can’t focus on her face and I feel myself slipping. I’m so tired. So very tired. “You just got to hold on, okay sweetie? We’re going to be there soon, but I need you to stay awake for me,” she says.
