(April POV)
My Dad's comment made me confused. I didn’t understand the “again” part so I frowned. “How can you blame yourself for what happened, Dad? If anything, it was because of you that I survived! If I hadn’t known how to fight, they would have killed me as soon as they had cornered me. Anyone else would've panicked and they would've wound up dead because of it. Me fighting back like I did, gave Raine the time to come forward.”
It took a second before Dad started to relax a bit but soon enough he nodded his head. “I get it, Princess. But as your Father, I will always blame myself when you’re in trouble and I’m unable to protect you. Like I shoulda been there fo…” He began but stopped and looked away.
He had to have meant my brother. I’m sure of it. Maybe I should tell him I know?
