(Alex’s POV)
That afternoon, the alarms were raised and we all went running out to the southern meadow. When we got there, everything was quiet and I had to pull April back to keep her from running into the meadow ahead of anyone else. “But Austin and Conner…” She cried out and I shushed her quietly before softly saying, “Let us clear the area first, babe. We don’t know if anyone is lurking in the tall grass.”
Our warriors were already sweeping the area as I spoke and yes, we had that planned a little. I mean we knew we’d have to improvise a show of some sort just in case anyone was watching. Which is why she hadn’t used any of her special abilities.
